The Pledge (2001)
Excellent
A well crafted story. Definitely outside the mainstream. I enjoy the ending, as well as the fine performances by a stellar cast. It's a shame this movie left theatres as quickly as it did. Perhaps it will be used in film classes in years to come as an effective way to tell a story without succumbing to the pressures of modern day Hollywood.
V-World Matrix (1999)
God I love me some McCool
An amazing actor with such tremendous potential. That overbite. The way he takes on Dark Woman. OH BOY! And James Servais? You know the line I'm talking about, baby. Awesome! But Vanessa Perkins steals the show as the self-aware nurse. BAM! Her severed head (wait, that's not her) is extraordinary. By the by, this movie stinks.
The Smokers (2000)
Terrible
Bad ADR, foley, acting, editing, writing, directing, makeup, costumes. The only redeeming quality- my friend, Phil, who stole the show. AWFUL! The meandering plotline (I use that term loosely) follows a basic 40 act structure- make up something, no payoff, I'll introduce a new character, make him gay, let's have the girl shoot someone, ohhh and let's have her screw the limo guy while an extra mugs for the camera. Ugh...
