The Darwin Awards (2006)
Lots of cameos
The fun part was saying, "Oh, that's so-and-so" during the movie. And any movie that casts the Mythbusters as arms dealers is OK by me. I thought Ryder and Fiennes were good--but I would watch Joseph Fiennes read the Yellow Pages, so I may not be a good source. Excellent use of Ferlinghetti and Metallica as well. The murder mystery plot line was a little weak; I would have liked to see more examples of Darwin-ish behavior. All in all, it was a good way to spend 1:34 of my time, and I recommend it to anyone to watch instantly. I don't know if I would wait for it to come in the mail but as an impulse, it was good. Netflix should add more like this.
I Could Never Be Your Woman (2007)
I liked it
I really enjoyed this movie. Of course, I am a fool for Paul Rudd, but I thought it was funny and sweet. I did laugh out loud in a few places; Tracey Ullman was hilarious in the role of Mother Nature--just the right combination of exasperation and ticked off at us humans who want to mess with her perfect order. I would say, rent this and have a good time. To all you haters who love to trash on these types of films, I just want to say that you don't need to watch them if they offend your precious sensibilities so much! You pretentious "artiste" people make me want to puke.
