Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2023)
Poor writing... and yes, the irony is killing me!
I loved Percy Jackson as a teen, and have read through the series multiple times. I decided to read the series while watching the show and I just don't understand the changes. The casting was great across the board. The visuals were well done and the general story stayed true to the books. But the writing ruined the series. Considering Rick Riordan is involved the irony is brutal. The books are written like a screenplay and could have been done relatively like the books. I understand changes like Sally Jackson not using Madusa's head on Gabe, but everything else just didn't make sense. I truly had hope that this would be a good version, but alas, nay nay.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: Whose Show Is This? (2022)
Just why?
I don't even understand why this episode even happened... I kept holding out hoping this show would improve, but in the end, it was just terrible all the way through.
Spoilers ahead... not that it matters... cause it's not worth it to watch...
First off... so everything culminates at Emil's retreat and things start to come together with the story... in a really lame way. Then suddenly she-hulk smashes the fourth wall, crawls across the Disney plus screen and climbs into Avenger Assemble... what? I love me a fourth wall break, but... what?
Second, we spend what must have been over half the episode wandering around the MCU studio... why?
Third, we meet Kevin Feige... the robot?... huh? And this is truly the only semi good part in the episode when Jen breaks the fourth wall while breaking the fourth wall...
Fourth, we finally get back to the climax... And find out there is no climax and everything is just over... really?
They could have done that at the end of episode 8...
Needless to say, as the biggest MCU fan since it all began opening night with Iron-Man, MCU you have lost your groove, and I truly hope you find it again.
Also, she-hulk looks like an NPC from old rpg games...
Tuttle Twins (2021)
Funny, informative, not perfect
The show has great humour throughout with some truly hilarious parts intermixed. It's a very informative show with an unnashamed tilt towards capitalism. I'm not finished yet, but I do hope they explain that capitalism isn't perfect and knowing the flaws it what can help us overcome them.
There is also a great, widely acceptable, moral lesson in each episode.
