Tournament of Champions: A Champion is Crowned (2020)
Rule broken, can't believe it! *spoilers*
So in the finale of the first season the chefs had to use whole duck, and kolrabi in a breakfast , lunch and dinner dish. Brooke, who was chosen as the winner DID NOT use the whole duck in her breakfast dish!!!!! She used a duck egg, cool, great, but where was the whole duck ingredient? It seems to me Amanda Freitag was totally ripped off, since Brooke was missing a required freaking ingredient in the breakfast dish!! None of the judges said anything about it either! I just watched this season, as they are replaying them before the 3rd season starts. I was so angry I was basically hopping up and down in my living room. To me this was totally unfair, and the fast that Brooke didn't use the whole duck in the breakfast dish should have been pointed out by the judges. It was like they wanted to let it slide cause it was the finale or something. Really doesn't make me want to watch the second or third season after this!
Hawkeye (2021)
Wanted to like this
But wow was it bad. Hailey Steinfelds character, Kate, was super annoying. I swear I just wanted to yell at the screen, shut up! Jeremy Renner was good as Hawkeye still, but Kate and the "villians" were dumb, like they were trying for slapstick. At one point Hawkeye loses his hearing aide , and all I can think is he must be happy he doesn't have to listen to Kate anymore. Bad on so many levels. Very cringe and eye roll inducing. Didn't even make it through the 3rd episode, couldn't take any more.
Red Notice (2021)
Typical Meh Netflix Movie
Ryan Reynolds is great as usual, but this could have done without the rock for sure. Gal Gadot was good as well. The other big problem is Netflix doesn't seem to have an actual budget to travel to any locations for filming. All the outdoor shots were cg, and not very good cg either. I didn't mind the story but you are constantly pulled out of it by bad cg shots and the rock, who seems like a very nice guy, but isn't a very good actor sadly. To me it is just another very so so Netflix movie. Seems like that is the best the can do, so so.
The Originals (2013)
Klaus is too whiny
So I'm currently epidsode 8 of season one, and i'm very late to start watching this because I wasn't a fan of the originals on the vampire diaries. And after 8 episodes I remember why it is i hated them so much before, Claus is so whny I can barely stand to watch him. I like Elijah, not really into Marcel or Rebecca, but can handle watching them. Klaus reminds me of anakin skywalker, maybe that's why I can't stand him. Like a little boy that never grew up, not even a little bit. Ya, probably won't finish season 1.
Altered Carbon: Phantom Lady (2020)
Not digging Anthony Mackie
I don't know Mackie very well, only thing I've seen him in was captain America and avengers. I thought he was pretty bland in those, and after 2 episodes of altered carbon, I still think he's pretty bland. I just don't feel like he brings any takeshi to the role. Jole still felt like takeshi, but mackie isn't making it believable that he is the same guy. Totally bummed out because I really liked the first season and watched it twice already. I wasnt thrilled to hear Mackie would be taking over the role to begin with, but I'm willing to watch. So far not impressed.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Original Trilogy fan, not so much a fan of this one
I waited to rent this on DVD, after what JJ did to Star Trek I wasn't willing to go see it in theaters. This version was slow, Kylo was not menacing when he took off his helmet, and like his grandfather in the prequels, which I try to forget ever happened, he is a whiny baby. And man o man I wish I could be as good at everything I tried as Rey is. I'm saddened by this movie because I didn't even have high hopes with JJ at the helm, and I am a huge fan of the original trilogy, so much so that I even have a VCR at my house to watch the originals that way, all JJ did here was try and put a movie together that threw in as much from the original trilogy as it could. It was an OK movie, that's why I gave it three stars instead of just one, but it is not one that I will be revisiting any time soon.
