Watchable, gripping, takes viewers down a dark tunnel we're only beginning to wake up to
What if Artificial Intelligence
entered the criminal justice system?
This series deals with a possible scenario. Considering this series was shot before Microsoft went public with their AI system and Google Bard is in hot pusuit, the makers could be said to have made a pretty impressive "prediction" of where AI is headed.
It's no more about the jobs that may be lost due to big tech companies and their elite CEO'Ss employing AI for economic benefit. It's a question now of what if AI prosecutes the innocent, or maybe ... what if AI finds these very same elite guilty of crimes? A computer incapable of being bribed, coerced or influenced.
The possibilities are endless. Thos series on Hulu is watchable, gripping, and takes viewers down a dark tunnel we're only beginning to wake up to.

Murder Mystery 2 (2023)
Disappointing & Ditectionless
I've been fond of Adam Sandler movies, which are usually fun on a relaxed evening. However, this particular one was rather disappointing and had a poor storyline. A murder takes place (as the title reveals), all hell breaks loose and the Sandler-Aniston duo are on a hunt to identify the killer.
At quite a few places the movie is more of a headache than laugh riot. If you're looking for a no-brainer shot at some fancy locations ... go ahead. The film tries desperately to keep viewers entertained, but didn't fit the bill for me. The earlier "Murder Mystery" was somewhat better ... this, in my opinion, was a half-hearted and forced attempt at film making. A movie that Sandler fans would rather forget.
Fire of Love (2022)
A Love Story as spectacular and tragic as Romeo & Juliet
"It's June 2, 1991. This will be their last day."
Katia and Maurice, then 49 and 45 respectively, were killed instantly by a sudden pyroclastic flow from the erupting Mount Unzen. A less ambitious biographical documentary might have withheld this information for a tragic denouement. However their deaths were far too important to keep for a cheap last-minute reveal.
Director, Sara Dosa rightly says: "This is a film that's talking about time, both human time and geological time, and so we wanted to establish early on that there was a ticking clock".
The documentary tells the true and tragic story of two volcanologists - Katia and Maurice Krafft - who left behind hours of footage when they were tragically killed by an erupting volcano. Their love for each other and for volcanoes, endured till the end.
The Black Phone (2021)
Intense. Shocking. Brutal. A "must watch" this summer.
Absolutely phenomenal, intense, shocking and brutal. The combination of superb direction, sound design & mixing, writing and editing. Kuddos to the actors who all deliver strong performances.
Just Mercy (2019)
Fact is stranger than fiction
Mark Twain wrote: "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn't."
This movie based on true events is just that.
Unbelievable, yet begging to be believed.
Heart breaking, yet heart warming.
Tragic, yet exhilarating.
A moving story, yet one that leaves the viewer frozen in disbelief.
A story of intense human cruelty, yet one of enduring hope and ultimate victory.
It's hard to be left untouched by the end of this movie. Great performances by every single member of the cast.
