Leap Year (2010)
so-so obvious, but...
...I mean right from the very start the whole plot is so obvious it could make one feel like an idiot, but
...i really liked everything else: acting is nice, Ireland looks just beautiful, chemistry is there and there's a bunch of funny moments to laugh at.
It is definitely not a masterpiece, but nobody said it is.
This movie is touching and I watched it 'till the very end
anyone would want something like this to happen in their life, before the sun goes
if you are a perfectionist and still looking for "a crazy little thing" - this flick is for you, trust me : )
PS what's that thing 'bout Dublin? : )
Creed: Live (2009)
so they say 239 HD cameras...
OK, so the visuals are good indeed. Confirmed.
But man! Why record and sell such a lousy performance by Mr. Stapp?
The band performs great, it shows that Mark and other guys didn't waste time for 6 year, sound is almost perfect and energy just flows, but Scott manages to ruin all the magic with such a lousy performance I could never imagine!
So is it worth buying? Hell NO! It is not even worth seeing it for free! Don't even waste time downloading it for free.
The only thing that Scott manages to speak with the proper key is thanking the fans for coming to the concert (Poor Houston!).
At first I gave it 5 out of 10, but now when I'm finishing this I think 2 is the right number...
PS the other day watched MJ's "This is it" - I was impressed, I think Scott Stapp should also watch that DVD before going out to the stage...
This Is It (2009)
did u get the message? really?!
first, the movie itself: it is good, not super but heartfelt and personal.
Mr. Ortega, thank you! u did it right, no matter what they say...
great persons tend to gather great people around them. you will see a lot of wonderful artists around MJ to wonder and enjoy.
is it worth seeing? yes, it is. absolutely. hate it later, but see it first.
so what is the message? unfortunately, of all the reviewers, only -cynthiadwarner- got it...
MJ: "I really feel that nature is trying so hard to compensate for man's mismanagement of the planet. Because the planet is sick. Like a fever. If we don't fix it now. It's at the point of no return. This is our LAST chance to fix the problem that we have... where it's like a runaway train... and the time has come. THIS IS IT."
to my understanding, this is what the movie is about (no matter how much or less a fan of MJ i'm)
think about it before it is just too late and THIS becomes the END.
why is it that i feel that we've already lost it...
God bless us all

The Guru (2002)
don't even try it..
I watched this movie quite a while ago (somehow it seemed to be OK to me back then) and just happened to watch it again on the TV tonight.. Boy!.. Have I changed that much over the past 5 years??
I mean it was a nice silly movie going around love, sex and regular Hollywood bull-stuff, that didn't really matter that much.. but, i guess.. only at the first glance. The biggest and the worst idea of this movie is that you can be anybody and do whatever you feel like (without a glimpse of prejudice) and still find happiness.. oh really!??
NO WAY! (unfortunately)..
The karma (they joke about) won't let one become happy, living the way this movie's characters live.
This movie is just not worth watching, if you want to watch something less harmful and sensible check out "Outsourced" - it has the same flavor, but the aftertaste is just so-so different..
Cheers!
Ostrov (2006)
good one (really)
Beautifully shot, nicely edited slow-paced parable I haven't seen for a long time. Sometimes everyone has to sit down to watch such a picture, fortunately sometimes such movies do reach our eyes and hearts. Great acting, but the soundtrack is not there to my thinking, I guess a different composer could have done a better job, but at least it doesn't spoil the movie badly. I've seen it at home, alone and I think it's the best way to see Ostrov - it's a very private movie for everyone. Wouldn't like to see it at a cinema, that's for sure. Rent it, watch it and you'll have a lot to realize. Good to see that it ain't necessary to spend a fortune to shoot such a good picture nowadays. God bless us all.
