The Batman (2022)
8/10
Real Batman
6 March 2022
I start by saying that The Batman, basically, is a cinecomic that is aimed at the general public, which, however, differs from the Marvel films or the DC Cinematic Universe. In fact, Reeves tries to bring to the big screen, not the usual film full of action scenes and with a large amount of special effects, but a film noir, investigative, in which the real protagonist is not the characters but the interweaving of the plot. The Batman played by Pattison is very dark and realistic, but at the same time it is very much reflected in the pages of the comic. This film, unlike Begins, focuses on the figure of Batman. The figure of Bruce Wayne appears for a few minutes during the film, in fact Reeves makes us understand that Bruce is the real mask of Batman, who tries to have a purpose in life after the murder of his parents. The villain is a very scary figure who makes the plot a mystery. The Riddler goes to carry out his crimes during scenes full of tension and violent. I connect to this point to say that this Batman is very violent, you hardly ever see the blood, but we know that to make a violent scene you don't just need the splatter; Reeves manages to show all the violence and darkness of Gotham without showing you anything so explicit. One of the elements that I appreciated the most is the relationship between Sergeant Gordon and Batman, they investigate for the duration of the film and you can feel the trust that each feels in the other. In one scene, Batman is seen in the midst of numerous policemen, the batman seems to be the alien element, but when he starts talking you understand the potential of this character. Another relationship that I really enjoyed is the one Batman has with Selina, Catwoman. Zoe Kravits manages to make this relationship mysterious, which oscillates between being in love or a relationship of mutual esteem. If you look at the technical aspect, I believe that few cinecomics are able to reach this level. Reeves plays with colors, red, yellow and blue, uses many very close-ups that show the raw truth of the characters, the few action scenes are almost all shot perfectly. But the element that I appreciated most of the direction of The Batman is the scary figure of the bat lived in the streets of Gotham, Reeves in one scene shows you the entire fear of the criminal as soon as he sees the signal in the sky. I can say that from a directorial point of view Reeves managed to bring to light a better direction than Nolan in Batman Begins, Christopher is very good at character management, but he lacks in some action scenes that are a bit cumbersome and complicated to follow (it will improve a lot in the Dark Knight). The photography that is at a high level and the soundtrack is majestic. Michael Giacchino composes memorable themes that can be compared to Hans Zimmer's soundtrack in Begins. Finally, I can say that the film is not perfect, some plot passages are a bit cumbersome and an action scene is perhaps slightly confusing. But I can say that I promote The Batman and hope that it will be the first chapter of a trilogy worthy of this character.

Oscar movie
1 February 2022
This film is very particular, given that the plot is banal in some points and innovative in some passages. The direction is simply splendid, with a very particular research of photography and very suggestive settings. The first act focuses on the birth of the main character by introducing the secondary characters. The second act, on the other hand, focuses on the rise and fall of the protagonist. The third act stages the consequences of the protagonist up to the end of a cycle that I very much appreciated. The film is a true work of art, the only thing I didn't appreciate is the explicit violence that del Toro brings to light.

Cobra Kai (2018–2025)

A great rebut
11 January 2022
Cobra Kai is the best rebut of recent years. A very well built series, it is impressive that in the first seasons with each episode there is a twist. The first season is the best, but the level of the others is always high, perhaps lowering slightly for the fourth season. I see that they have very clear ideas and that they want to continue with other seasons.

Is It the best Spidy movie?
16 December 2021
Spider-Man No Way Home is a great entertainment movie that brings sadness, nostalgia and lots of fun.

The film seems to be divided into two parts, with the first very comical phase which has the task of deepening the psychology of the three main characters and of resuming what was "sown" in Far From Home. A positive aspect is that the film takes longer to start, in order to solve and explain the problems of the previous film well.

While in the second part the film speeds up showing all its twists and the potential that fans were waiting for.

But this is where the first problems begin from my point of view. The plot begins to stagger a bit, in fact a second vision will perhaps serve to fully understand the motivations.

The directing, which had culminated in Spider-Man Far Frome Home, especially gets worse in fights where the action is difficult to understand. Except (scene seen in the trailer) the fight on the bridge between Peter and Octopus, in which Wats managed to make the character of Molina created by Sam Raimi believable.

Another problem is the comic dialogues set in wrong situations, which for example break up the epic moments of the film.

The special effects have deteriorated compared to those of Far Frome Home, as well as the soundtrack, which is no longer so present in the scene.

So in my opinion there has been some steps forward compared to previous triology films, but also many steps backwards that I never expected.

The question I ask is: Did we feel that much need to see characters from old films?

My answer is no ... I would have preferred to see more original characters and story.

In the end, No Way Home is a film that is superior to Far From Home but that does not reach the levels of Homecoming.

A film that could have had more potential but it satisfied me.

Finch?

What to expect from this film? The answer is the usual post apocalyptic film. It presents you with a very interesting situation which, however, does not carry on. The film. Ends as if it had been cut by a hatchet. A bit unpredictable ending.

Eternals (2021)

Oscar-winning movie?
16 November 2021
Marvel seeks to raise the bar by presenting an Oscar-winning directed film and spectacular locations. But is there the fa? The film splits in two. The first hour a bit slow, but this is not a problem, the first act sins in presenting the characters by characterizing them well and only 3/4 of them. The action scenes are thrown at random to make the film more compelling. The first part is rejected, then the plot changes direction and becomes much more exciting showing twists and spectacular fights. The most characterized characters always remain the same. With some practically useless Eternals that only serve to make a scene. The soundtrack is quite passive. The special effects in some situations are beautiful, in others they are messy. The direction is good but it does not emerge so much. Overall it's a mid-chart movie of all Marvel movies but it tries to differentiate itself from its old siblings.

No, It's not a movie winning Oscar.

The closing and the beginning
1 November 2021
I saw it preview last night. A film that in some points recalls the first Gostbuster, but which has its own ideology. The characters they present to us are almost all well characterized and useful to the plot. The director did a good job, given the great responsibility he had with this film. Some ideas are very bright and innovative. The first hour and a half is very beautiful, full of jokes and suspenseful scenes, the problem is the last half hour that is lost a bit by recalling the first film a lot. The soundtrack is irrelevant, apart from those two moments when you hear the original themes. Overall it is a good film, not at the levels of the first but certainly superior to the female Gostbuster.

WandaVision (2021)

An overrated series
19 October 2021
A series that started very well for the first 3 episodes, interesting and fascinating. Then at the end it was ruined so much that it gave it 4 stars. He had sown a lot but then didn't wet the ground. Too much stuff that wasn't fixed. The real problem is the script !!

Triology of Lord of the Rings
12 October 2021
In this review I am addressing the entire trilogy. One of the best triologies of all time. Three cinema masterpieces that have revolutionized cinema. DIRECTION, cast, SPECIAL EFFECTS, SOUNDTRACK, photography ... and much more !! The triology that launched fantasy in theaters. I recommend the extended version is more beautiful than the cinematic one !!

The King (I) (2019)

England history and Shakespeare.
12 October 2021
A historical film that tells the story of King Henry of England (Chalamet). The plot sounds classic and simple but you have to wait until the end to understand what the film wants to tell you. Chalamet manages to convey the power and suffering that he must endure as a king during the conflicts between France and England. The ending perhaps comes a little too quickly and the situation is resolved quite simply. But overall it's a good film that brings back the Middle Ages in England by drawing inspiration from the works of Shakespeare.

Not bad how Iron Man 3 and Thor 2, but not very good.
8 October 2021
Shang chi is not the classic Marvel movie and I appreciate that. The direction in two situations is brilliant otherwise nothing special. The plot does not tell me much and the motivation of the villain (the Mandarin) I find very stupid. We see that Marvel is focusing a lot on Shang chi, especially for the scene after the credits. The characters are not very characterized, except in the relief comic. Overall I find it a forgettable film, apart from two action scenes.

Dune (2021)

I MUST NOT BE AFRAID
8 October 2021
Dune is an amazing movie. One of the best special effects ever. A crazy photograph that makes you love and hate the Dune desert at the same time. Villeneuve reaches its peak, demonstrating skill in managing the action scenes and making the slower scenes interesting, inevitable for the transposition of Herbert's novel. The very compelling storyline and the phenomenal cast. Hans Zimmer leaves us one of the best soundtracks of him. It's a movie to see, to see at the cinema! Only time will tell if we are faced with a masterpiece, but it has everything in order to become one. And remember it's part one.
