Curse of the Macbeths (2022)
Unique Adaption
This was an interesting take on an old tale.
I will be the first to admit that this won't be everyone's cup of tea, but
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I would suggest it does take some basic, if not more than basic knowledge of the play however, otherwise I think it would be easy to become lost.
The acting was excellent and the use of music and imagery was spot on.
This story has been told many different ways, and this one was entertaining to watch.

Under the Banner of Heaven (2022)
Well Worth the Wait
I was waiting quite a bit for this show, and I was not disappointed. Interesting story that keeps you wanting to know what happens next. Great script and acting. I can't wait to see more of it.
Outlander (2014)
Good but Had More Potential
I finally decided to watch this show during the somewhat recent lock down. I did enjoy the overall story. Watching for the period costumes, the music and the scenery was worth it, almost on it's own.
I do agree though with some of the other reviews about the excessive, over the top sex and nudity. I don't find it offensive, but after awhile the novelty and shock of it starts to wear off and then it starts to drag the story down. If I start thinking to myself, must I see these two naked....again. It's not a good sign. I would have preferred more character development, and less of that.
I get they were likely after ratings, but the show was good enough on it's own not to need any cheap ploys to get people to watch.
I liked the show well enough, but I was disappointed because it had potential to be better.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
Bogus
I wanted to like this, I did. I was ready for a little nostalgic flashback but it didn't happen. This film was a mess. The sad part is, it didn't have to be.
I'm all for more female characters, but not when they're shoehorned in, and worse than that it goes against everything the other two films said.
It said in the first one Bill and Ted's music helped save the world, not one song from their two daughters.
The daughters themselves were just odd, but not in a funny way. It was like watching someone try and do a parody of what they thought people from the 80's looked and sounded like, but didn't.
They need to start writing scripts again focusing more on the story and the plot and less on weird forced in agendas.
It was shame. This could have been good. But watching the first Bill and Ted and then watching what they had them turn into in this one, was just sad. It did not give me the feel good vibe I was hoping for.
Fear Street: 1978 (2021)
An Improvement
I agree with others that this was an upgrade from the first part. I actually wanted to finish watching it this time. Still a bit uneven in some parts but it did capture the 70's camp vibe and it felt a bit more like Fear Street this time around.
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
Entertaining Enough
The problem with movies like this, is we all grew up with the books and have an idea of how the visual adaption should be. Personally I would have rather seen something based off the Fear Street Sagas, like the Betrayal.
That being said, this was decent enough, although not without it's flaws. It's a good evening popcorn flick, as long as you don't overthink it.
I do agree with some of the main complaints about it not feeling like the 90's though. Just simply cramming 90's songs one after the other, does not achieve that effect. Even the dialogue felt off.
I'm interested to see what the next one brings and it did renew my interest in reading some of the books again.
The Stand (2020)
Disappointing
I loved the book as well as the 94 mini series version. My biggest problem with this version was the timeline and the decision to jump around back and forth. I felt like I came into the middle of a movie, and if I hadn't seen the original I would have been confused as to what was going on. The original just had a better flow to it, including a really well done opening scene.
The way it was done here, I didn't get invested in any of the characters or even The Plague itself.
I don't know why that seems to be the new thing lately. That it's somehow boring to just tell a story from the beginning without going back and forth. It's fine to do that in small doses, but this was way too much.
I don't think I'll make it to episode 2. The cast was fine, and I think it could have been well done. It was a shame they decided to present it as they did.
We Have Always Lived in the Castle (2018)
Good Film
I've been a fan of the book for years and was so happy to finally see it come to the small screen.
If you're looking for a horror or thriller this isn't what you'll get here. It's a drama film. Go in expecting that and you'll be better off.
It's sad to see many movies brushed aside simply because there isn't major action scenes every 3 minutes.
The atmosphere was great and the acting was top notch. Especially Sebastian Stan and Taissa Farmiga.
Destroyer (2018)
Good Thriller
This was a good detective story. Not really for anyone looking for an action movie. Despite how the trailer made it look, it's not really that kind of story.
I found you'll enjoy it more, if you know that going into it.
Nicole Kidman was great. Sebastian Stan was a joy to watch as always.
I didn't find the flashbacks confusing. Thought they were well placed. Nice twist at the end.
Overall a good movie. Nice way to spend a couple hours.
The Apparition (2012)
Entertaining Enough
This wasn't the best movie I had ever seen, but certainly not the worst.
It was entertaining enough to waste and evening with, and I didn't feel ripped off. It's not the type of movie you can be overly picky with. Not perfect but it had some good scenes and the acting was good.
If I was bored some afternoon I would watch it again.
