Foyle's War (2002)
Excellent series!
Very rarely nowadays we have the opportunity to watch such a good series. Congratulations and many thanks to the actors Michael Kitchen, Honeysuckle Weeks, Anthony Howell and all the others -excellent acting! Also, the music creators, the cinematographers, and the people responsible for the costumes dept.
This is one of the very few Horowitz stories that I like. It's a good thing he's not suggesting full historical accuracy. It's OK in this way.
It's absolutely worth watching.
The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021)
Shockingly low level!
If you are looking for the Shakespearean drama in any form, or expect anything similar to its great 'reproductions' into other cultures like the Kurosawa films, you better stay away from this apple-netflix-hollywood-blockbuster claptrap. I gave it one star to show how bad it can be but I will remove even this one star.
Bridgerton (2020)
Horrible acting!
I agree with the other reviewer, "the story choppy, the characters cardboard cutouts and some of the acting very bad." The actors are not acting, it's a flat recitation, they do not belong to this time period. The ... plot? Forget it.
Pereval Dyatlova (2020)
Very good!
I suggest you watch it. Very different from what we have been fed for decades by the already declined Hollywood and most of European cinema. Nice, smooth plot, but the film direction is the masterpiece.
Doraibu mai kâ (2021)
Oh!
Something is missing, again and again. Something is gone? No continuity, very long scenes without any reason, hazy! The book is different, the movie is turned ... what style?
Trolösa (2000)
Bergman
I gave it 9/10 for the story, a Bergman script. The direction is what Ullmann could make after all these years of being next to him, being directed but refusing to admit what she should have learned from Him.
Den osannolika mördaren (2021)
Crazy!
This is a completely messed up movie. All of the real persons it makes reference to are depicted unfairly or with the wrong attitude. We don't have an opinion presented, through the excessive present-past-present-past we are told "this is how things are"! Bad from that point of view. The "unlikely murderer" is not shown for who he really is, his job connections, his political affiliations and beliefs.
BUT it's worth watching.
This is my 2nd evaluation after watching it for the 3rd time. It's a film that has missed out on so many things that left me very disappointed. It's just a 'Netflix movie'.
Foundation (2021)
What a pity for the books!
The actors are bad, the script is bad, the direction is bad, and all the rest. Obviously, they didn't understand anything. The science fiction context is lost behind senseless dialogues and sex. Imitating Star Wars produces a very bad result.
Scenes from a Marriage (2021)
Should be -10
I gave it 1 because there's no -10 rating.
From all point of view relating to the making and executing a film acting included, it's abhorrent.
The actors are like children! No acting, just reading from some teleprompter and adding "feelings" to the text: yelling, crying, fear ...
As for the Bergman TV series with the same title, please don't even dare to compare! There is absolutely nothing in common. It's a shameless stealing of the title, a complete copy-paste where the content of the 'paste' was lost in the way.
