Cinematography
3 June 2023
I loved the cinematography and use of the mansion. This movie was really good. Funny, romantic, cheeky, haunting and bollywoood-like, all in one. The Cinematography was excellent. The reading of the subtitles, took away from the thrill, of the visuals, though.

The visuals have come a long way, with these kinds of movies. I missed the subtle nuances of the filming, due to my ignorance of the e Hindi language.

I'm grateful for subtitles, but I would love voice overs. Finding good actors to do the voiceovers is a challenge but it might be worth it.

These Hindi movies are awesome. Full of colorful history and imagination. Another version of our own genres in America.

The romance with the macabre. Romance with the crime. Romance with everything life has to offer. Romance is like oxygen in Hindi genre. It's something that I love about this form of film and art.

I hope more of these films have more dubbing in other languages. These stories are good and original. But it's a challenge to appreciate everyone a movie has to offer, when you have to spend 80% of your time, reading, rather than watching.

Love, is still all powerful.

Loved this!

Warning: Spoilers
The cinematography was excellent!!!! I think my favorite scene was the ball, where she is running with her dog and leaps on the swing and the 3 dogs leap for her. That shot was brilliant!!! I have watched that scene many times. Best scene I've experienced in ages. Well done! The rest was brilliant too, but that first action scene kept me glued. The moth dress scenario was brilliant too. Lots of great filing and acting. The soundtrack was equally strong. Loved the plot. Best female villain in ages. I think she was more of a villain than. Cersei Lannister. Which is saying a lot. Brilliant acting and very funny.

Loved this

I'm a cook, by hobby. I love kitchens and loved this show. Gave me lots of new ideas and inspirations. The joy for architecture, interior design and cooking, come together in this, docu-series. My 3 passions. I Hope more shows like this are made. The cinematography was beautiful. I could feel the rooms, wallpaper, appliances, etc. Well done with the filming. The calming feeling (calm music, laid back feel ) of the film kept me watching. This was tastefully done. Didn't feel like someone was trying to sell me something or a competition or game show. It also didn't get too far from the actual theme of the show. Some shows get too deep into the lives of the people, rather than what the show/film is about.

The New Eddie Murphy?
28 December 2022
This movie was good. It reminded me of Beverly Hills Cop. This French Actor has a lot of camera charisma. Just like Eddie Murphy did, in his youth. Even the laugh is seductive. Very happy and strong vibes from the French actor. He made the movie. The other actor that played the detective was good too. But his character was not as relaxed as the French actor's role. I miss those light hearted movies of the 80's. My generation. This movie was a nice, wink, to those movies of the 89's. The French mom was hilarious. That would be me. The plot was readily made and the violence was minimal. Well done with the action scenes.

Nice twist
28 December 2022
Very good film. Cinematography was very good. Acting was good. Costumes were fabulous. Love these kinds of movies. There is a plot. The plot is clear. Even with the suspense. There should be more movies like this. Kind of reminds me of, the movie, 'Beautiful Creatures'. That kind of feel. Love those kinds of movies. Maybe with characters in my generation, (older) like, the movie, 'Bloom. Maybe a movie that had a little of all 3 movies would be awesome. The movie, The Host is another ingenious movie (of that genre) with the same age range level of learning, and fighting the order of things. There should be more movies like these.

Very informative

I've been to the area. Maybe having a place for the ghosts of the dead soldiers to sit and drink and eat , would be a nice gesture. A symbolic memorial and honoring for the soldiers that lost their lives. The memorial is not a place for them to gather and relax. Something they could not do while they fought. We have other mock dinners for the dead in other places..., might change the weather issues. Appease the soldiers..., I learned a lot about this ancient craft of wine and champagne culture. Makes me want to learn more. Even live the life. With so much history, there should be more government funding...., maybe they government can pay for a wine bar for the fallen soldiers. Someone can keep it clean and comfy...

Excellent

Excellent twist on this genre. I think this movie would have done better in the theaters, if it had less hype and the genre was a bit more obvious in the advertisement. This is a sci-fi, some horror and comedy buff's, type of movie. Which, I am. I was prepared for anything, with this movie and I was pleasantly pleased. The work is brilliant. This is an up and coming genius, in the movie making world. He needs a bigger budget for his next movie. I think this was an interesting plot, unexpected twists, and good acting. There was even some campy scenes that I appreciated. Tip of the hat on 80s movies too. Loved it! Bigger budget would have been better for some of the scenes.

Wonderful story.
8 November 2022
India has an amazing religious culture, full of legends, folklore, stories, etc. Amazing movies can be made with, the Gods of their culture. More movies would be well received with a bigger budget. We love our super heroes. India has loads of them, in the form of the divine. I'd love to see movies about Krishna, Lakshmi, and Buddhist divinities, like Kwan Yin. A bigger budget, with an international cast and crew to share ideas, for special effects and more natural performances. There is a writing and directing at times, and it gets in the way of a good story. More collaboration might help fix this...

Really creative story
4 September 2022
Loved this movie. Very interesting twist to the folklore of The Troll. Awesome view of what a modern day Troll would be like. Loved the creative twist to an old folklore for modern times. Brilliant.

Although the ended was a bit unsettling for me. I didn't understand fully. I find Scandinavian movies to be very cerebral and slow moving. The endings are always open ended and there doesn't seem to be a full understanding of what just happened.

It's an interesting way of movie making. Visually, it was wonderful. Acting is always superb in Scandinavian movies, as well. Which makes it ok for the action to be slow moving...

Locke & Key (2020–2022)

Plot is interesting
4 September 2022
I love the plot. The idea of this series is brilliant, but...

I found it challenging to keep watching the series, as the characters didn't seem to learn from their mistakes. So many poor decisions and delayed responses that seemed unrealistic.

Granted, it's a fantasy, but the characters actions should improve with each mistake, in my humble opinion. The characters, kept making the same mistakes.

Another confusing twist, was that, I thought an Echo was not able to take a key from a Locke, yet in season 3, the echoes could take the key. The key exchanges were not consistant.

The premise and story had so much potential. But the directing and writing need work, when it comes to character growth.

Otherwise, what's the point? There were a lot of good things in it too. Which is why I watched it till the end.

The acting was good. Good actors. I liked them all. I just wish the Director had them grow in their characters and behave realistically in line with the danger they are in and the past experiences they've had.

That's just me. Maybe I missed the campy side of the series, which created those scenarios, to tip a cap, as it were, to those 80s slashers, where the characters made poor decisions, etc.

I found myself yelling at them to run, in one of the last episodes of the 3rd season, while they stood around watching something, when they should have been running for their lives. Lol.
