Glory (1989)
Glory What a Movie!
Remarkable acting across-the-board; from Matthew Maguire, Denzel Washington, and Morgan Freeman.
A remarkable story that should be retold in history of how far we have come in seeing how equal we all really are, even in the face of war.
Ricochet (1991)
Violence Begets Violence
For anybody who was a fan of violent movies in the 90s, and is a huge fan of Denzel Washington along with John Lithgow, this is a movie worth checking out with some over-the-top violence and acting!
After putting a violent criminals behind bars, ego gets the best of a police officer and becomes a detective district Attorney. After years of planning and obsession, the criminal escapes and begins to bit by bit frame the man who put him behind bars.
Today John Lithgow is best known for his slapstick comedies and heartfelt performances, but before all that he was able to portray one of the most psychotic characters brought to film!
Denzel Washington never fails us to give us a gripping suspense film and have you watch it till the very end!
The Starling (2021)
The Starling Had a Nice Flight
It's nice to see actors tone down their acting to put together a lovely story; especially Mellisa McCarthy. She was able to present herself in a nice setting of a character you actually felt for.
Kevin Kline always presents his characters in a likeable way that reminds you of a family member.
The story itself is easy to follow where a couple goes through a struggle but not able to heal together. It takes an odd doctor to help bring a mental sense to help look at how to heal, especially when a starling interferes in the process.
Val (2021)
Once a fan always a fan
Had always enjoyed watching his films since I was a kid. Everything from "Top Secret", "Teal Genius", "Willow", "The Ghost and the Darkness", and "The Saint".
I had wondered for years what had happened to this absolute amazing actor when I had not seen him make films in quite some time, and this document Terry answered it all.
It was so heartbreaking to see where life had led him today, and full of amazement of how much passion he still has for his fans!
Narrated by his son, this film tells a very beautiful and interesting story of Val Kilmer's life!
The Professor and the Madman (2019)
The Professor and the Madman Make a Masterpiece
With phenomenal actors in acting from Mel Gibson and Sean Penn how could you pass up this film
Dramatic and powerful performance from everybody to put this film together
Telling a story about how our personal sins come to haunt us
And how sometimes we may go in life regretting not being there for those who supported us and showed us love
A remarkable story how two men from different backgrounds could put together such a masterpiece and be remembered in history for their accomplishments
This is a film worth seeing for excellence and fantastic performances.
Kate (2021)
Full Action/Little Plot
With the really only big name of Woody Harrelson this movie is jam packed with boom bang stab punch kick and a lot of butt kicking
As much as the plot was weak enough this film keeps moving forward in a fast enough paise to want to see it to the very end.
The Trackers (1971)
Do Not Track Down This Western
As soon as I saw that Ernest Borgnine was in this I thought this might actually be a pretty good Western
When I saw that Sammy Davis Junior was going to be in it I figured this might even be better than what I was expecting
But as soon as Davis Junior comes riding in with an outfit that somehow belong in a more modern western it just all of a sudden did not fit too well
Most definitely a tension western between two characters on the issue of race but pretty good dramatic acting especially from Borgnine.
Rio Lobo (1970)
One Trip Away from Rio Lobo
As much as John Wayne had saved this film with his acting and great character this was not the best place to be in the Wild West
The acting from other actors fell short and did not seem they could level up to John Wayne's talent
The storyline was most definitely there especially for a John Wayne character to keep it alive.
Cry Macho (2021)
Cry Encore
Eastwood is not as young as he used to be
This film goes to prove that even at an old age Cowboys still exist
Eastwood directs a lovely story about even broken Cowboys still have a fight within them to do the right thing for the right people.
Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
Spinning Web of Amazement
So unexpectedly this was actually a fun action marvel film with young actor Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal
The plot was very well put together with that nice twist in the middle that brought the ending to a standstill
With the character Mysterio brought into the Spiderman world was absolutely spectacular! The action sequence with the CG was very well put together
There was a few moments where the dialogue felt very raw and not very becoming
Almost wishing that they could had written it a little better between the characters of gaining relationships
Overall most definitely one of Spiderman's best adventures to be seen
Looking forward to seeing the sequel.
Halloween (2018)
A Welcome Back After 40 Years
Forget everything you had seen or known after the 1978 movie
This is the sequel that was meant to be
It goes as far as to show that Mike Myers is not just the bogeyman but he is a man beyond this world of horror
With the original actress Jamie Lee Curtis playing her original role after 40 years goes to show that deep scars go so deep into preparing you for the worst
She still is able to portray that same character just years later more paranoid of what can really scare you.
