Mack & Rita (2022)
Reminisce of "Big"
This cute rom com reminded me of "Big" Tom Hanks. Diane Keaton slays, to use the movie term, in everything she does. I loved seeing Dustin Mulligan from "Schitt's Creek" And hearing Martin Short as "Cheese" the dog. 😂 I love the moral of the story - Be yourself, the grass isn't always greener aka don't compare, it really showcased influencers on social media, and to always be there for your friends, friends, instead of followers! A few times I found myself multitasking, because it didn't completely hold my interest, but I heard the lines. The only scene I didn't really like was when she was high on mushrooms. It's like the new marijuana.
Ride (2014)
I'd Run Away Too
If I was her kid, I'd want to get away from a controlling mother. Crazy co-dependent. We understand later in the movie why she is that way and you have more compassion for her, but following him around is too much. Didn't think the writing was that good. Was surprised it was written and directed by Helen. It was slow and repetitive, especially with the surfboarding scenes. Luke was the best. He always makes me smile. He's my favorite Wilson sibling too. He's tied with the limo driver. He had to put up with a lot from her. I didn't like the scene with her smoking pot. I'm glad she came around in the end. Wish I liked the movie more.
Sisters (1991)
Deserves 10/10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Sisters is an awesome show. It blended drama and comedy with theatrical nuances (unheard of at the time). They covered and was ahead of culture on many issues with their storylines. Famous alumni of the show include George Clooney, Paul Rudd, before they were big names. All the actors were superb! I'm one of their biggest fans. I have a group on Facebook - Sisters TV Show Fan Group. I started and completed a successful campaign to get Sisters on DVD. Now we're working on getting it streamed. While collecting signatures I saw how impactful this show is, from all over the world!
Father of the Bride (2022)
Reputation Ruined
Nobody beats Steve Martin, Martin Short! This is so bad. The acting, the chemistry (lack of), not funny, etc. Wish I didn't waste my time watching it.
The 15:17 to Paris (2018)
How is it integral to the plot,
That we know they had mint chip gelato? They could have written a much better story. The action scenes made up for it. Otherwise it would have been rated 1 star. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome what they did, they're heroes for sure, but why write it the way they did? So much unnecessary information/dialogue. It felt like a journal.
