Monster (2008 Video)
1/10
great idea - but terribly bad realization of it
18 January 2008
If there is a thousand ways to disrupt a video feed in order to make it look like it's been badly damaged, these girls have now found 1200 ways. The cutting of the video feed had a purpose, I know that, but it was an annoying feature in this film. It almost made me go crazy, but I stuck with it just to see the rest and be able to give this film a fair judgment. The film (idea) itself is not bad at all. The acting has one or maybe two decent moments (although Erin is kinda cute (when she's not sobbing)). The script is just wonderful. It had the potential of being a new Orson Welles's 1938 radio broadcast The War of the Worlds, but unfortunately it just had the intention, but not the drive to actually make it. But honestly I think you should spend your 90 minutes on collecting navel lint instead. In the long run it'll do you much more good than watching this. I watched it - so you wont have to.

Last Holiday (2006)

Foreseeable but highly entertaining

There's no foul play, no foul language, not too many witty remarks, just a bunch of soft and mushy love/romance blah-blah. Still I just loved this film. Not that a film needs foul language to survive by my standards, but that's more of an American way of portraying the afro-American comedy actress of today. Queen Latifa does an excellent job in making her character a respectable average person that's just waiting for that little extra that makes life worth living. This film had that little extra that makes those 90 minutes worth while. It was deep in the most reflecting manner. I loved it. Who needs enlightenment when there are films like this?

Severance (2006)
2/10
I must have seen the wrong Severance
29 December 2006
If it wasn't for some clever moments this film would've gotten a 1 in grade. This was an awful awful awful waste of my time. And my girlfriend almost hated my guts for telling her that it wasn't my fault, and blaming the IMDb database saying it had high ratings. The IMDb grade of 6.9 is clearly set by people with lower standards or with a lot higher intelligence, 'cause I can't even if my life depended on it understand how this film could get a higher grade than 2. Therefore, I stick to my original thought, that I must have seen the wrong Severance film (although the poster is correct). The film must have been hijacked or something and been replaced by this rubbish about the Hungarian outdoors.
