The Dog House Australia (2021)
We're so over the sob stories.
I'm just going to break down the structure of this show, every single episode.
1. An unsuspecting person/s come on the show. One of three: a couple, a family with children or a person looking for a companion.
2. They reveal what they want in a dog
3. They reveal their pathetic little sob stories. No literally, every single person has a sob story. Not a single person who has entered this show has not had a sob story. It's actually pathetic. They'll be like "two years ago, I really started enjoying {insert hobby here} until I was {hit in a fatal accident, diagnosed with an illness, had a dog die, had my legs fall off, fracture my eyelashes etc. The list goes on). You won't find a single person on this show without a sob story.
4. The dogs are released and it's an instant connection
5. They elaborate on their sob story
6. A person from the cast comes out and it's a happy ending.
They also switch between like 6 different scenes so often so you can't stop watching. But just avoid this show. It's literally only designed to make you cry. So pathetic. I'm honestly so sick of it.
The Cheap Seats (2021)
"The Cheap Have You Been Paying Attention!"
It's literally a scripted, cheaper version of have you been paying attention. You know it's bad when then content is funnier then what the hosts have to add... how does this get airplay? (No offence). Also, the the canned laughter needs to be changed because they laugh after everything that isn't funny, so the entire show.
The Kardashians (2022)
I hate that I like this show
I'm a new viewer and I really don't like any of these people, yet it's so fake I actually almost enjoy it. The Kardashians are so unaware of everything else happening in the world it's actually funny, and everything is so random and contrived I cringe. But, weirdly, it's so bad I kind of enjoy it. 5-6 stars being nice I guess.
Christmas on the Square (2020)
It's so bad, which makes it good
PLEASE This movie is SO BAD It made me laugh and I love it for that, "Change?!!" - Dolly Parton being a homeless person on the street made me laugh more than it should have... and the whole idea of them selling a town to a Cheeto factory also made me laugh. And the thought of how awkward this whole town would be without a backing track 😭
Single All the Way (2021)
It's so sweet but
Look... it's so sweet - the family is lovely. But... I just can't ignore the obvious stereotypes! The acting isn't an issue, obviously Christmas movies are meant to be cheesy. But it feels like a punch to the face that every time there is representation it has to be blasted on a megaphone to the entire world. The whole movie was just full of stereotypes and I feel like this is actually more harmful than good. But it is sweet and I might watch it again next Christmas and I hope going into the future movies with representation will not so stereotyped... or just say they have representation as a cash grab...
