The Marvels (2023)
Watch this just wanting a small and fun addition.
The problem nowadays is that everyone seems to think that every new marvel film is going to be Avengers: Endgame level and absolutely blow your mind. This is more of a short, fun, and chilled out Marvel film, that is actually, in my opinion, levels above the first Captain Marvel film. Ms Marvel is one of the most charismatic MCU characters, and Captain Rambeau and Captain Marvel herself are also a lot better than usual. A Pretty lackluster villain doesn't stop this film from being lighthearted and funny, but not the cringe kind of funny from an MCU film like Love and Thunder. It also has two fantastic post credit scenes. In conclusion, go into this film thinking of it as a more quick and fun MCU film and you'll probably like it as much as I did. Solid MCU addition.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
People like to complain....
Alright. Here is one of the instances where I'd just like to say something I saw on YouTube that I really agree with. Never mind the critics. This is a fun, enjoyable Phase 4 film that perfectly balances (a lot) of humour with some really dark undertones and upsetting scenes. I'm trying hard to keep this spoiler free, but some scenes are just so powerful (especially nearer the end) and Christian Bale was just.... incredible. Who cares about the character design? It's not even that bad! He was menacing, ruthless, but not evil enough to be irredeemable. Chris Hemsworth was amazing as usual, and Natalie Portman played her role SO WELL. So on this one I say don't scroll to any more reviews and watch the film without being a hardcore film critic and criticising everything, And enjoy the film for what it is. If I could I would rate this 8.5/10 but I will round down because 9 is VERY high, and reserved for films like Endgame. Stay for both post credit scenes! There are 2!
This is a great movie.
The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019)
Touching movie
Redeemed Shia LaBeouf for me, fantastic performance and definitely a feel-good film that manages to juggle deep sadness with happy scenes that make you fill with joy.
SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT
The fakeout at the end deducted a star for me though, wasn't much point for it. Overall though, glad I watched.
Bing (2014)
Bing is SO WHINEY
Bing really gets on your nerves after a while, hes so whiney. This show is so hard to watch, it honestly gives me headaches listening to Bing go BuT tHeN ThE SkIpPinG r0pE BrOKe AnD i wAs sAd!
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015)
The last quarter is beautiful
An overall ok film, but the parts after the battle in the Capitol consist of amazing acting, satisfying endings, and basically, the finish to an incredible set of films.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014)
Are you, are you, coming to the tree
Has one of the most powerful scenes of any film I've watched, brilliantly adapted from the novels.
Overall a very good lead up to the finale, definitely recommended.
Friends (1994)
Fantastic
Lighthearted and happy - great characters and probably the best show I've ever seen.
