The Last of Us (2023– )

Worth the years of waiting

It was awesome and I didn't want the first episode to end. This is the closest video game adaptation I've ever seen. There are only a few changes from the game so far, but that is ok with me. I can't wait to see the clickers and other infected. I think the episode ended at a good spot. And I am glad that they are hour plus long episodes. I was a little skeptical about Bella Ramsey playing Ellie, but I think she is going to be pretty good. The last of us is could very well be my favorite video game of all time. I have beat it around 10 times since 2013. I just finished a playthrough Friday night to have it fresh in my mind for the shows premier. I am not disappointed!

Blockbuster (2022)

Boring and lacking humor

I couldn't even make it through the first episode. It just really wasn't funny to me at all. It didn't bring back any nostalgic feelings of renting videos. But then again, blockbuster in my opinion is the least nostalgic of any place that I rented videos. Once blockbuster became big, it felt more corporate. Video update, AV Video, and others are much more nostalgic, as someone who grew up in the late 80s, 90s and early 2000s. I was very disappointed because I love shows like superstore, parks and rec, the office, Brooklyn 99 (aside from the newest season which I couldn't stand), etc. This just felt poorly written. The lead actor is not a good fit for the role at all and I couldn't relate with the teenagers at all. Melissa fumero is also one of my least favorite Brooklyn 99 actresses. I had high hopes, but sadly, I cannot continue with this show.

Resident Evil (2022)

Not Resident Evil! Rotted garbage, full of maggots.

I would give it less than a 1 star if I could. First thing I noticed was the horrible cgi and a main character that instantly doesn't seem to fit. First off, her acting is horrible. Why the need to have some weird progressive hairstyle? Seems impractical in an apocalyptic situation. Whatever they were going for with her look, it certainly doesn't work, especially along with her trash acting! Why does the younger her have no gap in her teeth? The entire cast sucks, aside from Lance Reddick, but Albert Wesker is not black in any of the games! Good job Netflix. Ruining things with your Progressive, Woke, ldbg...lgtb...ldtg...ldgt...whatever the hell, agenda. The flashing back and forth between 2022 and 2036 makes it feel like a family drama and not a horror series. And it is so unrealistic and far fetched, it's down right unbelievable. Even the way the zombies move, it's like the director was Christopher Walken saying, "more cow bell", but instead saying, "more neck jerking!". Next, the fire killed all the zombies, but she came out unscathed? The giant caterpillar decides not to eat her for some reason and slamms her down into a car from probably 30 feet in the air? This would have been instant death, but nope, no broken bones no major injuries and then magically, men with guns (more horrible actors) just appear? I mean, I know that movies aren't realistic most of the time, but this is way too far fetched. It's like the writers and directors have no concept of physics. Not even low level, kindergarten stuff. Like, "If I jump off something high, I will get hurt or die." Nope. That's proven again with the main character jumps like 50 feet off of a wall onto a car (while making the most awkward, stupid, ridiculous, slow mo faces) into a mass of zombies (zeros?), and gets right back up and runs off, unscathed again! The storyline sucks, the characters suck, the acting sucks, the whole thing sucks. This should not be called resident evil and these people should be blacklisted from Hollywood. Oh and guess what! A freaken vegan is the one who starts the apocalypse! Haha! This show is so damn stupid!!!!!!!!
