Honestly gorgeous and great storytelling. Yes, it's not the book, but so what? It's an adaptation! Setting the interview within the pandemic surprised me but I think it works well for the story as well as the re-write of Louis' history. I think it's a nice refresh to the story, breathes new life into the story.
Those saying Anne Rice would be rolling in her grave are being completely disrespectful, it takes seconds on Google to find out that she was actually working on the show and supported it's direction. And even if she wasn't working on it, who are we to decide how she would react to an adaptation of her work?
In the reviews I've read so far on here Jacob Anderson as Louis is not getting enough love. He's brought such beautiful emotion and intensity mixed with stunning subtlety and depth. I'm becoming such a fan of his as an actor. The rest of the cast are great too, they all make a fantastic ensemble together.
I think fans should give the show a try with an open mind and that it's an adaptation, not a direct retelling (which in my opinion would be boring because I've already read the book and would rather be surprised by a story!)
