The Angry Video Game Nerd (2004)
Pure Brilliance
James is amazing. I have never seen anyone actually capture the excellence of the good ole days of gaming. Let's face it....The early era of gaming was unbelievable!! The only thing on MY mind at that time was cussing and playing Atari. Would be the first thing I grabbed during a fire of course. As we think back to those days, yearning for a glimpse...BLAM!!!! James takes us there. Like the song says..."..Gonna take us back to the past.." I don't know how to thank you enough!! You are amazing...I play all your vids very very religiously. I am actually a drug/alcohol counselor in Santa Barbara California. Your vids,THESE VIDS have been used as a form of therapy. I have a house full of guys every morning begging for me to play another episode. We have had James Marathons at night. Gary
Marlo and the Magic Movie Machine (1977)
Can we say Flashback?!
If anything in this world can actually bring back the smells, tastes, visions, and Much needed Therapy of my youth, then it is finding out that Marlo has a home on IMDb. I am now on a quest to find the collection. The Saturday mornings were not complete without a sit down with Marlo. I can taste the Captain Crunch Peanut Butter and hear my mom yelling from her room. Then taking out my Trs-80 color computer and trying to make my version of the machine.
Wow and thanks. Please email me if there are whereabouts to get the collection! Thanks and Wow again..-smile- glanesb@hotmail.com There needs to be a fan-club site if anything.
Dead Set (2008)
Finally
OK....Just finished the series and I thought I would sum it up with a popular 3 letter 'Chat mode' word.
(omg) This was everything I personally have wanted in a Zombie flick. Being a sort of self titled Zombie Fanatic, I have seen and read it all on the genre. This was by far, the best I have seen and the best I have wanted to see. Excellent job in the realism. More towards the way of the 'New and Improved' zombie. They run, they are scary, and did I say they are scary?!? It was some good fun watching this series. George Romero should be very proud that someone has finally done justice to the genre. They did a good job in bringing us the realism that Mr. Romero seemed to have the true knack for. I just love the mix of horror blending in with real-life situations. The news casts. The announcer in the background....Brilliant baby.
So to wrap this up..again, (omg)..and (ty) and maybe an (lol) and a :) for good measure.
Star Ocean: The Last Hope (2009)
Amazing escape from reality
I have seen and read so many mixed reviews on this. One day I was watching a news report from a Japanese mall. There were people lined up literally for blocks and blocks just waiting to get there hands on this game. I said.....OK...
It is not a perfect RPG but WOW.....this game does a wonderful job in taking you away from it all. YES, the characters can be cutesy and annoying ( 'KAY' ) but hey guys......it does the job. With much innuendo and brilliant graphics..it is well worth the price!! Especially with the choices out there now for a good RPG. The wait for FF13 has been very grueling but this piece has definitely taken up the time with grace and enjoyment. Memorable and I am wanting more!!! I say "Great Job"
