Dangerous Game: The Legacy Murders (2022)
Why would no one play the game?!
There were a lot of reasons why this was bad, but the big thing that bothered me was that they were presented with a murder mystery game and refused to play it. Everyone kept dying as punishment for not playing the game until the end when in one play, they solved the puzzle. Plus Will Sasso's foot was completely mutilated in the beginning but he was able to hobble through the woods. These are minor issues but I'm sure the rest was talked about it other reviews and these were the things I hated most. It was gross. Gory but not in a fun way. And a baby kitty dies in a garbage disposal right away for no reason at all! I knew this would be stupid but it's one of the worst I've subjected myself to in a while.
The Humans (2021)
Not sure what they're aiming for...
Interesting and VERY well acted. I just got so intrigued in the beginning because of the shot where the coat falls out of thin air-like it looks like there's a coat rack it's hanging on then it falls-no one sees it but the viewer. I thought ooooh spooky stuff is going to happen to this family but other than that and some noises, nothing spooky happens. It's very slice of life family drama but with an eerie tone. I can't really figure out why the coat part happened.... I Guess maybe it was trying to set you up like that and then have you realize that the spooky thing was really just real life and family and the human experience all along. OooOooOooh. I don't know I AM glad I watched it. I love the cast. Even Amy Schumer. I don't know why everyone is so mad at her.
Candyman (2021)
Incredible
The user reviews kept me from watching this for a while but I saw it last night and concluded that those users are dumb and frankly, racist. I thought the story was great-it tied in perfectly to the original and had relevant topics...and the horror was unique and terrifying. I like how all the murders were shot through like a mirror or window and left some up to the imagination but there was also the gross out horror with the skin peeling and the tiny holes. I loved it! Great spook.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Problematic but still entertaining?
I understand everyone's problem with this movie, for sure. You hate the lead character and you never really get the satisfaction of seeing her fall. I was really excited in the beginning because I thought it was going to be a movie about this awful con artist getting what's coming to her, but she ends up kind of winning it all...I sort of appreciate that it does something unexpected, but it would have been much better to see her suffer and regret her wrongdoings. I'm still not like...mad that I watched it though. It's really pretty and has a great cast.
