Papicha (2019)
The world needs movies like Papicha
This film draws its power from its ability to make people feel oppression from the perspective of the main character, Nedjma. The film oscillates between the daily life of a carefree young woman and the situation in Algiers at the time of radicalization in the 90s which does not correspond to the mentality of young girls of the time. All the remarks and attacks that Nedjma endures throughout the film show to what extent women of the time were oppressed by terror and indoctrination. A dramatic film in which we can salute the talent of Lyna Khoudri and Shirine Boutella. A Great movie which help me to understand this part of history.
Don't Worry Darling (2022)
Is this the real barbie feminist film?
This film made me strongly think of the film Barbie, the look of the characters, the fact that they're living in a "perfect" world, even the houses which are adjoining in a circle like in the film Barbie is very disturbing and make me think that if barbie had really actually been a feminist film then it would have looked like this movie. At the same time as the character, we discover what is going on behind the mask of this perfect life and the film takes us down a path that we did not imagine at the beginning. Certainly a few elements could be explored in greater detail to make this film a perfect one, but in terms of having a good time watching a film that makes you think, the bet is won. In terms of acting, we cannot deny the very good performance of Harry Styles who must have perfectly embodied all the facets of his character.
Lady and the Tramp (2019)
Not Bad but...
I'd like the movie, I found a lot of moments sweet, emotional etc but I'm really frustated by the changing of the 2 siamese cats. Why that? And the New Song is just so fading. In few other moments of the movie the scenes and the songs has been respected and I really don't understand why they have changed everything about the cats. However, the story is respected and the live action give us the opportunity to rediscover our childhood story. My husband, how didn't see the first movie, loved it. But... I think siamese cats had to be a part of this movie so the movie would be really complete ! So sad.
