Napoleon (2023)

Excellent movie

I have no idea what is negative about this movie, except that one might expect more depth in psychological development and depiction of the characters, especially the main one, but apart from that is a magnificent storytelling after all, great acting, what else. Absolutely for the big screen, no home viewing. Music excellent, sound amazing, filming no rival ever. Perhaps it is more or less very explicit as for the younger generation, like a graphic super simplicity with generic symbols. Like a... Xbox game, could be a bit farfetched, but it is really mesmerising though. Beautiful and informative.

Licorice Pizza (2021)

Double vision

It is great and it is pointless. The characters, sorry, at first were very unattractive to me, to put it short. The story too. I did not understand why so many men were hitting on the girl. Then even why the boy was so sweet. But gradually... I got involved and started to like them. Weird. The relationship it is OK, I don't mind the age gap. It is not that. Well, it is natural and nostalgic, OK. I even felt something repulsive. Not the age gap, but something in all the characters, their quirkiness was.. a little off putting. But still there is some magic in the way it is made, of course, and it will be remembered for sure.

Different and unusual.

Looked compelling in the trailer. Super bland and cliche-Ed. Maybe good actors in stupid film. Good cinematography. Of course. Ridiculous dialogue. Awful. I thought of leaving. For aged loners to be "empowered" by a ghost, not to sound very rude. I thought of them copulating in the room. Maybe spiritually only. And then he will return back from time to time? And she goes to work and comes back and he asks her - how was your day? It sounds detarded and like a cheap novel, how did they call them novels for.,i do not remember. What, is this a fantasy movie, that's OK, a movie for older ladies to have relationships with big, huge coloured giants. Sorry. This is a galactic trip of spirituality and unity, not an erotic drama..oh yes..

Minions (2015)

Mediocre

Why so bad? Well I am not the one there to do it all, maybe I can not judge. But it is so shallow and predictable, so bland as others are saying. Why always follow ups are usually bad. I felt almost asleep while watching it. And it could have been funny, witty, warm, fast, exhilarating etc. Anyway the characters are splendid, just a little bit of script.

Death on the Nile (2022)

It is not that bad. I think the overacting and theatricality are on purpose and are brilliantly done. The setting is also marvelous, why not.

The only thing that draws it back is the simple plot. From the first moments I was aware who is the killer..

365 Days (2020)

Awful

I did not expect much anyways. Do not get me wrong, I love romantic, sexy movies. And I can cite a lot. Some like 9 weeks and a1/2 classics etc... But this, was not even a movie, total crap, I barely watched it till the end. No plot, no acting, ludicrous scenes, ludicrous dialogue, only the landscape was nice that is 2 stars:).

Other than that, it is just a shame for the quality and style of this "piece" because I saw that many, obviously teenagers liked it. That means developing a taste for...null nada.

Shibil (2019)

Strong and relevant nowadays

Thank you so much for the beautiful movie. It is not only the original story of Yovkov, which is magical and beyond words, but the interpretation of it, which makes me happy indeed. Maybe the fact that the director himself is very young /19 yrs in fact/, makes me even more proud. It is sheer wonder how the actors are a hundred per cent as if from my own imagination. I mean that if I had to choose them I would choose the same brilliant actors in view of sheer outer appearance and talent, of course. Shibil is outstanding and Rada too. So are the other characters. Not to mention the brilliant aesthetics of the movie: the visuals and the music and the costumes.

It can certainly be called a modern classic, strong and beautiful.

Poetic magnificence

Nomadland is like a poem about life and death, spiritual and material loss and the universe. It is also about hope and faith. It is also ultimately a road movie about searching and healing. It is about everything. I have personally never seen a more magnificent and epic movie.

Warm, funny, romantic

This is one of my favourite new Bulgarian films so far. I am happy that such an idea and a director and cast exist. Full of very comic and heart-warming twists, relatively unexpected plot, amazing cast, down-to-earth and humane notions. Leaving you laughing and crying at the same time.

Some typical regional and national "cliches" are brought forward together with some international patterns too.

If I can, I would watch, all this director's movies. I am glad I discovered him for myself.

Sometimes Bulgarian movies are very pretentious and incomprehensible, unfortunately, to my humble opinion. But this time, thanks goodness, it is totally the opposite. And still there is a well spoken message or messages at the end. Not to mention the brilliant cast of Bulgarian actors who did their job quite well.
