Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas (2022)
A Romantic Gem
This movie, literally, has it all. The lead characters, Holland Roden and Tyler Hynes, are the perfect adorable screen couple who exude a romantic chemistry that will encourage audiences to get emotionally involved. The story starts a little slow, hence the 9 and not a 10, but it gradually builds into an unsuspecting and twisted story that will surely leave you with tears running down your cheeks. It's a story of finding love, broken hearts, romantic mystery, redemption, forgiveness and the absolute longing for the one who owns your soul all wrapped up into one well written movie. Thank you Hallmark and thank you Holland and Tyler for bringing Hallmark movies past the tiring era of CCB and hopefully into the more complex storylines that this movie definitely portrays. This is why I keep coming back to HM.
The Journey Ahead (2022)
Fantastic!!!
This is one of the better movies I've seen on Hallmark. I absolutely love the character development of both female leads. Both characters couldn't be different, yet somehow, they need the same thing. The difference in age defines their needs and it leads to some interesting and engaging backstories. It's their history that drives them forward. There are soft moments and moments that deals with the complexity of modern day life and they are wovem perfectly into the story line. I laughed and cried as the movie progressed. The scenery was fantastic, the story was heartwarming and dealt perfectly with some sensitive issues that are common place in everyday society. Great movie Hallmark. Keep up the good work.
Dream Moms (2023)
Disaster
I'm not sure what Hallmark was thinking on this one. The acting was bad, the characters totally unbelievable, the music score was horrible, the singing was mediocre and the dancing was absolutely atrocious. I turned it off after a painful 30 minutes. Don't waste your time on this one. At least Hallmark is trying something new, so that's good, I guess. If Hallmark is going to start doing musicals they should at least find talet who can dance and sing. The casting and the physical ability to perform any sense of art is vacant from this movie. Keep trying Hallmark. I like the idea of wading into musicals, but this one was a bust.
A Splash of Love (2022)
Painfull to watch lead female character
I was actually looking forward to watching this movie. It took all of 5 minutes to be disappointed. The lead female character was painful to watch. She acted like an idiot. Like an aggravating excited child that keeps on going. Whatever happened to strong female leads that Hallmark is known for. I don't blame the actor, I blame the director. I've seen this strong female leading lady in Journey of my Heart and she was wonderful. This particular character made me cringe. I was hoping she would snap out of it, but she did not. What should have been a great movie with great scenery was a total disaster. Come on Hallmark, you should have known better.
Moriah's Lighthouse (2022)
Not good.
It's not even worth going through a complete review. I've always been a big fan of Hallmark movies over the years but this one I turned off after about 10 minutes. The fake French accent was a huge bomb. What was the director thinking. I don't blame the actors, I blame the producers and directors for, what should have been, a good movie. You should have known better.
