Vivid Reality of life
17 August 2001
This movie was amazingly real. It is about the life and life style of

drug addicts. It isn't just about everyday druggies but it depicts

how doctors and they medicines they prescribe aren't always

good. If not used properly they can cause disastrous results.

The camera work and editing are amazing too. There is excellent

use of the split screen to connect two images with out doing

simple cuts.

This movie is very vivid and straight up when it comes to drugs and

not only what they do to your body but also your life, and others

lives.

They only problems I found with the movie is in incorrectly

depicting the medical field. Or at least only depicting the small

section of bad medicine that's out there. A doctor would never call

the police if they found out that a person seeking treatment was a

drug user. Doctors swear to give treatment to all in need, while at

he same time keeping anything you tell or show them confidential. I didn't like this because it might make someone watching the

video think that if they ever needed help they would not seek it,

because they are afraid they would get told on. Doctors also don't

use electroshock therapy anymore or use saws to cut arms off.

Other than that this movie is a must see. It depicts what is real

and does it in an excellent way.

Whack to the Max!
1 August 2001
First off I expected a good movie, similar to the other movies from Tim Burton. There wasn't much good in this movie that I could see. It starts off with a space ship that has a strange resemblance to the Quake symbol. The space ship also somehow has gravity even though it doesn't spin or have any explanation as to how gravity is achieved. The other thing that was kinda weird was that Marky Mark puts on a space helmet right over his t-shirt so if he was actually exposed to space he would die, it didn't even seal.

Okay, the movie is okay, the costumes, and masks are great. But obviously all the budget went to those rather than making a good movie. It had great potential but just never got to the good level.

The time travel isn't explained well enough and the obvious screwy ending is setting the viewer with a to be continued feeling. Suggesting that maybe a sequel will be coming even though most sequels are terrible. The movie had too much money making stuff in it and not enough Tim Burton.

If you want to see this movie I would suggest waiting until the video comes out because I felt like I was always one step ahead of the movie, including the ending. It was not worth $8!

Tuesdays with Morrie (1999 TV Movie)

Deals with things most people are scared of!
30 July 2001
Although this movie was a made for TV movie and the fade outs left me feeling like I was about to see a commercial, this movie is great.

This movie deals with aspects of life that people don't like to talk about openly when in reality they are all just part of life: love, friendship, who you are, elderly, and most of all death. This movie addresses death unlike I have seen other movies do. It confronts death straight on and gives you a different view on it all.

Many times during this movie I was left feeling more open minded about things, and this movie also had a wealth of quotes one could live by.

The acting in the movie was good, the messages conveyed are heavy messages that you have to really think about.

The direction, lighting, and cinematography were all fairly good.

I recommend this movie if you want to learn more about yourself and your future.

Describes a lifestyle of a Punk
30 July 2001
This movie gives an in depth description of what punk is and who is a true punk.

The movie deals with some life issues that teens deal with everyday. It also describes what punks believe in and why they choose to live the way they do.

This movie was edited in a very interesting way. The way they movie is narrated is great and adds to it. The cinematography, and direction are also good as well as the acting.

I recommend this movie.
