I don't even know what to say...
2 September 2009
I can't give this film any higher than a 5, but I can't rate it any lower either. I don't even know what to rate this film. I don't even know how to begin to explain how emotionally disturbed I was from watching it...I'll be honest though, I found it very captivating and interesting and spooky from start to finish, but the last 30 mins of the film I truly regret seeing. It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong, but the impression it left me with just haunts me. I know that this film is based off of a video game (granted I've never actually played it) but I definitely got that game vibe going on through the film with the fog and limited visibility when the night came. It's a suspenseful film to the point where you are watching it clenched in the fetal position on your bed, covering your eyes until you catch your breath, then you want to sleep with the lights on and having the covers pulled over your head all night long. My boyfriend showed me this film last night for the first time, and near the end I was crying because I was so freaked out and disturbed by what certain people were doing to others. He had to turn it off so I could calm down, but I wanted to finish watching it. And I really wish I didn't. I guess if you like films that make you jump then leave you with that empty feeling of emotional discomfort, then I highly recommend it. Like I said, it wasn't a bad movie at all, just overly disturbing and I will remain haunted by this movie for a long time. And believe me, if I'm rambling on about how screwed up this movie made me after watching it, you should know that it definitely does what a horror film is supposed to do. The acting is excellent, the sets are great, makeup effects are fantastic...it's just all to intense for me. But, the twist in the end is what makes the film all come together despite sitting through the movie dazed and confused. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you enjoy intense gory decent horror films, then watch this one. You won't be disappointed.

Just plain awful
1 September 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is an embarrassment to watch. It's predictable, disgusting, and basically a porno. Eli Roth cheated off of Saw by trying to make as gross a torture movie as possible, but what good is that kind of movie without a plot? And let me tell you, this had NO plot at all. Two Americans tour Europe and hook up with girls in Slovakia, the girls basically use them into getting them kidnapped, tortured and eventually killed...That is NOT a plot. That's just plain dumb, stupid, ridiculous, and horrible. I guess I could say that if you want to watch it, then watch it to see how stupid it is. I ended up despising Eli Roth, and you probably will to, because if I ever meet him I'm definitely going to be up in his face like, "WHAT'S YOU'RE EFFING PROBLEM???" Yeah, he's a 100% sick man. And I think those who actually do like the movie is because they think the same way Eli Roth was thinking when he made the movie. Disgusting. That's all I have to say.

Great Scott!!!!
25 July 2007
I love this movie! I saw it for the first time in like 15 years, thinking that I've seen it enough and put it off for that long. Then it came on HBO and I was forced to watch it...I never realized how unbelievably fantastically wonderfully awesome this movie is! It's so funny and good and...just incredible! The story is just so well-thought and cleverly put together. The acting is great, the sets are perfect, heck I can't think of one bad thing to say about this film! It's going to be a classic forever, there's no doubt about it. It's *fabulous*. ;) Anyway, yeah. It's a really good movie. Best movie ever made in the history of movies...deserves a trillion / 10 stars. Absolutely amazing. Love it love it love it!

Meh...
6 July 2007
Sadly, I saw this movie 6 times in theatre, because I was in love with Hayden Christensen. Looking back, I don't see why I liked it at all. The acting is 100% bad bad bad terribly bad, the script is pathetically lame, and...Yeah. I mean, sure the story line is good like all Star Wars movies...but, come on. George Lucas, you could've been a little more professional when you were writing the script, and had some sense to pick good actors to play the main characters. And I hate hate hate the fact that he started with 4,5, and then 6, coming back to 1,2, and 3. That's what makes me detest them so much. It just doesn't suit me anymore focusing on the acting and dialogue. Terrible. Just Terrible.

Dead Silence (2007)

Extreme Disappointment
28 June 2007
I'm an enormous fan of James Wan and Leigh Whannell from their film "Saw", and I couldn't wait until "Dead Silence" came out because I was expecting something that would blow your mind at the end and have sizzling twists and turns throughout the film...and when I saw "Silence" for the first time, I never felt such a horrible let-down in my life. The idea of ventriloquist dummies "coming to life" didn't get to me at all -- unlike where "Saw" you have the more psychological thrills where you have to pay attention to what's going on. I also thought the acting in "Silence" was terrible. I was disgusted by everyone who was casted. And I hate to turn Leigh Whannell down, but...the script was lame. And I don't get why it has an "R" rating because...there was no swearing, hardly any gore, not a lot of violence...It just wasn't something I was expecting from the "Creators of 'Saw'". So, if you're a "Saw" fan and haven't seen "Dead Silence" yet, don't waste your time because it's not good. And the poem that's in it is kind of pathetic if you ask me. Just don't count on "Silence" to be anything like "Saw". It's just a film attempting to make ventriloquism seem scary.

Perfect musical !
4 May 2007
I love this musical. I always hated musicals until I saw this one. The music, the acting and the sets blew me away. I was glad I speak French, because that made it even more enjoyable because I actually understood what they were singing. I grew up with this story and it's always been one of my all-time favorites. How can you not be in love with this plot? It's all love-triangles and stuff like that, and it's put perfectly in place for this story. What caught my attention immediately was the first song "Temps Des Cathédrales" because the vocals were so powerful and strong and after that was simply amazing. Seeing it in French really makes a difference because it really puts you in place of the musical. This is by far the most amazing musical ever presented. Je l'adore!!!!

I Loved It!!
1 April 2007
In general, I usually hate movies that are based on a true story because they always are so...boring. But this movie was really inspiring and amazing I just...I love it! I thought all the actors did a splendid job. Rush is always good, and Jesse Spencer was awesome in this movie! I was really impressed with his performance. This movie is definitely a film that you don't forget about, and it's like it stays on your mind for the rest of the day because it was that good. I think it's impossible not to like this movie, but that's just my opinion. And I know people hardly comment on this, but the music was really good, too. Yeah, I pay attention to the music...I don't know who did the score. I'll check that in a bit. But whoever they are they did a fantastic job. So yeah. This is one of my favorite films now. And let me tell you, it's hard for a movie to become one of my favorites. So, to this movie...congrats!!! I loved it. :-)

House M.D. (2004–2012)
10/10
The best show on the face of the Earth!
26 March 2007
I Love House! It's my all-time favorite show and I am completely addicted and hooked to it. Hugh Laurie is phenomenal, and the cast has perfect chemistry - no other TV show cast will be as good as House's is. When it first came on I was like "Oh, great. Another E.R. show". But not at all! This show is unique in every way possible and seriously I can't get enough of it! House's character is amazing! He has no emotion but he's still incredibly funny yet dramatic with the metaphors he uses, and it's just great! I'm entertained every second I'm watching this show, which is hard for a show to get me to do. Normally medical shows don't appeal to me, but heck, House does without a doubt! I started renting the House seasons in the middle of the third, and I never though I would become such an addict of a medical show! There is no other show on television that will ever top House M.D. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. House M.D. will always be the bestest show ever. Get it through your head, okay? My favorite character is Wilson. He's SO great and funny and...I love when House picks on him because...it's just so hilarious! And House and Cuddy are funny together. House just has a way on picking on his entire crew and I just love it! I love it I love it I love it! This show is unlike anything I've ever seen, and it will always be my #1 favorite show of all time. If you haven't seen it, watch it. And for the IMDb users, if you're planning on giving it less than 10 stars, okay, 9 stars, then don't bother commenting because House fans don't have time to read you excuses for not loving the show, and your submissions will only take up space because they'll be useless. I Love House, and you will to! Guaranteed!

Lost (2004–2010)

Not good at all.
20 March 2007
I hate this show with a passion. I watched the first season and I was so sick of waiting every single week to find out what happens, and then right when you get all set on your couch with popcorn and stuff to watch the next episode, there's a flippin' repeat. Okay, that's ABC's fault, but I can't stand the characters, and the acting is horrible. No chemistry whatsoever for the actors, which makes the show even more ick! This show shouldn't exist. Whoever created Lost obviously thought it would actually have to go somewhere and it took them like...not yet to figure it out. It's like "Hellooooooooooo????" I hate hate hate this show and I refuse to take any part in supporting it. Whenever I hear people talk about "Oh my god did you see Lost last night?" I'm just like "Losers". It's a bad show. I think it should be canceled forever. Then life would be good. No - great!!!

Not the best...
24 February 2007
I just got back from the movie with my mom and it wasn't all that great to say the least. I admire Jim Carrey, but I didn't think this was his kind of movie because I have always seen him as a really funny guy, and his humor still flowed throughout the film. The storyline was original though. It was freaky how all those dates and letters and numbers and stuff add up to 23...hence the title, right? But yeah, if you're looking for a scary movie to clench up to someone else at, then pick a different one because overall it wasn't that suspenseful or scary. It was more, "Oh, duh...I never thought of that equaling 23" and stuff. But good originality.

People call this a movie???
22 February 2007
Seriously I don't get why people are all like "Oh my God Step Up is the best movie ever!!!" It's a bunch of junk! The acting, first of all, is ridiculous, and let's not even begin to talk about the dialogue because it was terrible...Movies are supposed to be entertaining, and this, let me be the first to say, was *not* entertainment. I was actually laughing because I was so embarrassed watching it. The music and dancing didn't do anything for me as well. And what's with the Channing Tatum "hotness" that all the girls talk about? Whatever. The movie was pathetic. Don't waste your time - or your money. Unless you're a dancing movie freak, but movies like that are *not* movies...they're jokes.

Pure Amazing!
22 February 2007
This is one of my all-time favorite films. I was only 3 when I saw it for the first time...and I remember watching it in our living room, dancing along to the music; hiding under a blanket whenever the dinosaurs appeared on screen...And now whenever I watch it I am blown away by the visual effects this film contains, and I still am in love with the original score. I think the actors do an amazing job, and the screenplay is really awesome. Sam Neill is one of my favorite actors and in this film no one could ever do as good a job as he did. I still get goosebumps every now and then while watching this film, even though I've seen it hundreds of times...it still remains my favorite movie.

This is what movie making is all about
22 February 2007
I have never, ever seen a movie this good in my entire life! The acting is fantastic, the story is 100% original, and the end blows you away! When I first saw the trailer for the movie I knew instantly it was going to be a good one. How many movies are there of magicians and stuff like that? I really enjoyed this film. This is the best movie I have seen Christian Bale in, and he really did an amazing job! Scarlett Johannson and Hugh Jackman did a fabulous job also. The chemistry between the actors and characters was unbelievable! It kept the suspense going through the entire film making me think "oh my god, what's going to happen? what is he going to do?" and I love that in a movie! The ending, of course, was so cool! This is definitely "movie making at its *very* best!" If you haven't seen it yet, then watch it! You'll be astonished at how amazing this movie is! I don't understand why it didn't win every single Acadamy Award...Well, then again, critics don't know how to critique the right way so...oh well. Just watch the movie, OK? You'll love it! Guaranteed.

Hilarious!
10 February 2007
What makes this movie so funny is that these guys don't care that they get hurt...but at the same time it's like "why would they *do* that??" I actually didn't start watching "Jackass" until a few weeks ago, and then I rented this movie and laughed my butt off! It is so hilarious what these guys do to themselves and to each other. Bam's snake scene -I felt really bad for him! I was surprised he actually *cried*! I was like: "Whoa! Bam? Crying? What's going on?!" And then he's hiding on the top of a van or whatever...But hey - this is Jackass! So it's all good. I really liked the movie and you really have to appreciate these guys for giving us this kind of entertainment!!!

Seriously Amazing!
23 January 2007
I laughed non-stop through the whole movie. The cast is perfect and I love the story. 110% entertaining, and by far the best Disney movie ever made. My all-time favorite parts are with Kronk and Yzma, because they are so hilarious! I love how Kronk is just kind of that "Uh...duh" kind of guy and Yzma's always like "What's wrong with you?" It's so hilarious. And David Spade was amazing! I can totally see him being this character, and John Goodman...what can I say? He's definitely a Pacha. Seriously, if you haven't seen this movie yet, you *have* to because it will make you feel so happy and you'll laugh through the entire thing like I did. You're probably thinking "Yeah, right." But it's true! If you don't laugh at least 10 times during this movie, then you have no sense of humor what-so-ever. Just watch it and get ready for the most amazing comedy in the whole entire universe!!!

Pretty good
21 January 2007
Overall, I thought this was a great horror movie. I thought the plot was very interesting, and I loved the beginning where they showed all the bombs going off and showing what caused all the peoples' disformations and everything. I was satisfied with the gore...no doubt. And the ending was really sad. Not to the point of crying, but it was just really depressing and "awe"ing. I did not see that coming at all, and it's always great to get a surprise ending like this one. Especially for a horror movie. I was like, "whoa..." I've never seen the original, but this one was really satisfying for me. If you like gory-scary movies like me, then see this one.

Very good!
29 December 2006
I was very impressed by Beyoncé's performance. As well as the others. This movie definitely deserves some awards. The soundtrack is absolutely breathtaking, and it is such an original musical which makes it even more enjoyable. I did not get bored through one moment of it because of all the songs, acting, events, etc. that the movie contains. This is by far my favorite musical. Jennifer Hudson...she has the most beautiful voice in the entire world! Listen to her in the song "I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" and you'll be blown away. Her voice is so flawless and perfect...just so incredible. WHY DIDN'T SHE WIN American IDOL??? What's wrong with people??? Are they mental or what? But Beyoncé sings really good to, and when we were leaving the theatre her song "Irreplaceable" was on the radio and we blasted it and danced around the car. This movie will give you such a good and happy feeling once you have completed it. Believe me - it's definitely worth your time!

Terrible!
21 November 2006
This movie was unbelievably boring, not to mention predictable! the ending was lame, because it just ended and you knew what was gonna happen anyway! emmy rossum made the movie horrible, also! she's always the same in every single movie she makes...a smiley, goody-goody girl. i'm sick of her! the acting from the actors could have been SO much better, too. i was very disappointed from this movie, and i wasted $3.95 from purchasing this. it is not worth it to sit down and watch. everything in this movie happened WAY too fast...like the wave hits like 15 minutes into the movie! um, hello? wanna slow it down just a tad?? so yea, don't even bother renting or borrowing this movie, cuz you're gonna be disappointed either way. trust me.

Awesome
15 November 2006
I love this movie. First time I saw it I was blown away by the acting, the actors, and of course the movie itself. The story behind it is chilling and creeped me out...even though it's not as much a scary movie, but I loved how the characters change throughout the movie. Ashton Kutcher and Amy Smart did a magnificent job in portraying their characters and they really got into it. Basically everything about this movie is amazing. There are some parts where it was hard for me to watch, such as the violence that goes on between kids and growing up in a bad family and such. But still, it's a very good story and I highly recommend you seeing it.

No one can replace Christopher Reeve
15 November 2006
This movie was okay. I kind of knew I would be disappointed by it because Christopher Reeve (the ONE AND ONLY Superman) wasn't in it. The actors weren't anything like the originals, which is what caused this movie to downfall for me. I love the REAL Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and of course...SUPERMAN! But I felt when watching this movie very ashamed that I had seen something that was a complete remake of the original movies. I hate when movies do this, because then new generations say how the newer movie is better when it's NOT! So I won't be giving this film much credit due to the fact that the actors have no idea what the heck they are doing. To me, they ruined the film. If you love the original Supermans, don't see this.

How can someone NOT love this movie?
15 November 2006
Yul Brynner and Debrah Kehr work perfectly together. I grew up with this movie and I watch it all the time! I love the songs and the entire story is simply magnificent! This movie deserves 20/10 stars because it's just that amazing! I remember when I received the DVD, I flipped out! This is such a moving story and it just flows perfectly from one scene to the other. I am in love with the characters and the actors who portray them. Brynner and Kehr are wonderful in this film, and I don't think there are any words to describe how fantastic this movie is. It's a classic, and it will always be until the end of time. I will show this movie through generations, and it will be by far the best film I will ever see in my life!

REALLY good
13 November 2006
I just saw this movie for the first time last night, I'm now in love with it! My mom told me about it and she said it was a good movie and all, and since I liked Christopher Reeve I figured I'd watch it. So, I did and I balled my eyes out! It is the most romantic love story I have ever seen in my life! I told all my friends to watch it with me sometime, because it's that amazing of a movie that it has to be shared with the rest of the world. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect. The cable only rated it 2.5 stars out of 4, and it should be more like 10/4 stars! No joke, this movie basically swept me off my feet because it was so touching and moving. I love the story behind it, and the acting is incredible! Seriously, if you haven't seen it, SEE IT!!!

Still scares me half to death
30 October 2006
Okay, so I've seen The Exocist before, and I've wanted to for a long time since I was like, 9 or 10. But my mom wouldn't let me because the movie freaked her out like no other, and she said that she still has nightmares from it. But that's only because she went to see it in theaters when she was 11, so no wonder it scared the living daylights out of her. Anyway, I begged her for a very long time and she finally let me see it. AHH! It's not so much a *scary* movie but all that got me freaked out of my mind was her face. I mean, seriously, how can anyone not find that creepy? Don't get me wrong...I love the movie and I would definitely see it again, but I understand why my mom didn't want me seeing it. It was on TV last night and I asked my mom if she would like to watch it with the rest of the family and to my amazement she said "fine" so we watched it as a "family movie" and she closed her eyes through half the film! It was funny, but it's been a LONG TIME and it still scares her! It will probably always scare me every time I see it, but I'm a horror freak so this movie is AMAZING!

Best of the three...
28 October 2006
I absolutely LOVED this movie! I actually saw the Saw Trilogy where they played 1, 2, and then 3 in a row, and it was the best night of my life! I could not wait to see the third one. I was expecting it to be good since the writer *Leigh Whannell* said it was the goriest of the three, and that he got "physically ill" while watching it. He was right! I have never felt like that from watching a movie before, and it was SO good! I went to see it with some friends and we were literally squirming in our seats. So yeah, it was very good! I can remember watching the very first one and at the end I was crying because I was so grossed out and upset from the end, and I didn't watch it for another 8 months. But then I watched it again and it became my favorite movie. I then bought the first and second ones, and I loved them so much. Then I ended up waiting for the third one for forever it seemed. So I finally got to see it and I LOVED IT! If you are a Saw fan, this one is a MUST MUST MUST!!!!
