No chemistry, cringe writing
15 May 2024
None of the couples have chemistry.

Bruke and Ben, even though both good looking and handsome, are somehow not a god fit together.

Furthermore, their dialogues are cringe, no comedy, development is too predictable and that last scene is particularly bad and unbelievable.

Bruke's character was too hysterical and annoying, with quite a bit of overacting. Her daughter's character was bland and forgetable. The groom was no better either.

Overall, you will feel a lot of anquish while hoping that the next scene won't be as cringe as the last one, and that you will finally start liking and believing their love story... but no.. nope.. you won't.

I'll give it 4 stars just because I liked the attempt of potraying the love story for that age group, the scenery is nice, Bruke's best friend had a cute role and did a good job, and... as a fan of Blue Lagoon, I was curious and still kind of glad to see Bruke in another movie.

It's not really a comedy as there were no funny moments.

Boring with horrible dubbing
4 May 2024
I am shocked to learn this series is one of the most popular on Netflix.

It's so long and boring, your finger will be on fast-forward button all the time.

There is an incredible number of unnecessary fillers, meant for character development (?) of police officers and lawyers. Unfortunately, they bring nothing to their characters. You won't care about any of them, and you'll fast-forward those fillers.

In addition, there are long pauses whenever people are turning, thinking, walking, meeting or driving. Yup, fast-forward button.

This should have been a short documentary, not a series.

You will get annoyed with the dumbness of mother and her annoying reactions.

In the end nothing is truly explained and leaves you with the feeling of loosing time on this.

Don't even get me started on the most horrendous dubbing ever..

Bad costimography
5 April 2024
Ugh, this movie is bearly watchable if you have nothing better to do, but there are so many things that were lacking. For a start, costimography was extremely bad. Horrible, outdated outfits throughout. The makeup wasn't much better either, especially the makeup of the asian girl in the wedding scene.

Particularly troubling is that Lindsey was miscast, as her age is not fitting for a role of immature but talented, young single writer. Or at least she could have acted in a less immature way to close that gap. I am also not sure if too much botox influenced her acting, but something was off and she wasn't really likeable nor naturale in her role. Needless to say, there was no chemistry whatsoever with her love interests, which is a very big issue when it comes to romcoms.

The guy who plays photographer is quite attractive and felt more natural, so the movie might have worked better if some other actress was involved. Most of the side-roles are forgetable.

Dialogues are dry and generic, there is nothing anyone said that would make them seem interesting or worthy of sudden attraction.

The castle and the over-the-top wealth also seem like unnecesary overkill.

This is more of a Hallmark movie and it's ok to run it in the background while you are ironing shirts or something.

Entertaining space related series
31 March 2024
The series is quite entertaining and although it has its flows I am glad that Netflix has finally released something space/apocalypse related. There is a noticable lack of those themes in the past few years and I am not sure why. Maybe CGI is too expensive?

When it comes to 3 Body Problem series, the acting is good, the plot is original and the camera work is professional. 6th and 7th episode of the 1st season feel like fillers though. Even though a director or writer probably wanted them for character building, interpersonal relationships and for us to start caring more about certain characters, they could have been much shorter. They mess up with the flow and pace.

Nevertheless, I am happy this series is made and I am eagerly awaiting more episodes to be released. If you are a fan of space / apocalypse themes, you should definitely watch it.

The dumbest security expert and family
21 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Oh dear, I don't even know where to start to describe how dumb all the people in this movie are.

Everyone is extremely slow during emergency. They do not communicate, run nor think it would be smart to at least bloody hurry up.

Everyone stands 1 inch from the rift while it's spreading, with the dumb looks on their faces, waiting to see if they will fall in eventually. You are kind of happy when they do, as you dont care about anyone there. No likeable characters whatsoever.

Noone thinks of running away from the cracks. They run towards the crack or just stand there like brainless NPC characters.

To make things more ridiculous, director thought it would be a great idea to make them spend a long time talking about family's love-dramas. Even while sitting at the edge of the growing sinkhole in the middle of the earthquake, while their family members are in imminent life danger.

Dead horse would have more natural reactions in emergency situations. Everyone is so annoying, especially the daughter.

Your brother/son is missing from the night before and your idea of searching for him doesnt start with phone calls?? It took them hours to try to call him. And they never thought of calling his friends? Yeah, lets just send a borderline girl to run around the town like a headless chicken, to "try" to find him.

And the way a mom acts as a security expert with her "dead horse" reactions is ridiculous.

The only somewhat redeeming scenes were the ones from the mine.

All in all, if you want to get angry before sleep, go and watch this movie. Otherwise, avoid it. I should have avoided it.

The chemistry is there
10 February 2024
Considering that I generally don't like dramas, I am surprised that I enjoyed this one.

The director has done a good job. The casting was smart. Main characters are attractive, good actors and there's a lot of chemistry between them.

Loved the costumes and english translation. The fighting scenes are believable and well done.

I think that LGBT and gender-fluid people might enjoy this series a lot, since the main character doesn't care if the person he loves is male or female.

Give this series a go, it's easy to binge on it, and makes you feel romantic. Compared to other Kdramas, this one deserves a high rating.

Wow this is so bad
10 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I am puzzled by the high ratings for this show and all the people saying it's great. Do you all have such low standards?

The writing is horrible. Conversations seem to be written by a 13 year old child.

The plot is completely unrealistic. The plot: everyone who has money is an evil sadist, ready to torture and murder other people. Ridiculous.

Those who are evil are caricatures with no depth or dimension to their characters. They want us to believe that it's possible to find 6 high-school friends who are complete psychopaths and sadists (and all on the same level of psychopathic disorder), plus their teacher who helps them out and even feels free to beat a bullied girl in front of his colleagues, in a modern-day Korea. Oh and the ridiculous role of her mom, dear god. Everything is so over-the-top.

The main character only needs to say 3 sentences to make the guy, whom she just met, kill his father for her. Imagine that!

And the acting of the main character is horrific. One gloomy face expression and nothing else.

Avoid this series at all cost, you'll lose time and your brain cells.

So many thoughtful details
28 January 2024
I loved this although it was quite intense to watch, due to constant tragedy happening to the family. I was glad the end was at it was.

This is a very unusual mix of drama, action, comedy and fantasy at times. At times its a bit over the top, but this somehow works. The characters were diverse, well thought-out and skillfully developed. Movie was packed with action and different twists and turns, so you won't get bored.

I was surprised with small details that made the movie truly enjoyable to watch. Very thoughtful director and casting was great and rememberable. Highly recommend to watch, you wont regret it.

So many plotholes and no ending
12 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I dont even know where to start.

This movie had a potential considering the budget, nice movie set and a good start.

But there are no likeable characters, most of them are annoying, dumb and act like they dont have 2 brain cells.

There is an incredible number of baits and unexplained plots that lead to nowhere: deers, flamingos, a mysterious person that has slept in the shed and never mentioned again, bite/sound vs teeth falling off, the moon etc.

The movie is too long with too much time given to Julia's annoying character or people staring at things.

None of them have normal reactions. There's no "hey turn around and look at this weird thing" or "you wont believe what I just saw" which any typical family member would say.

They could have done so much more instead of sitting at home and not even talking about the world falling apart.

The mom looking for her daughter is the most annoying thing ever. She spends half an hour in the shed yelling at another kid and doing nothing instead of running around the woods, looking for her. She is not even calling out her name.

Or both of them almost cheating on each other after 1 day of knowing those two, and while in the same house. Ridiculous.

Also the city looks so close that they could have simply reach it by foot in a few hours if they wanted to. Or at least go with the car near the bridge where the blockade is and continue on foot to cross the bridge.

And what is that medicine for teeth falling off? Is there a medicine for that? Ridiculous.

Another plothole is them not hearing the sounds of bombs, or two airplanes that crashed in their neighbour's yard. Yeah btw, two airplanes crashing exactly at the same spot is a bit unbelivable as well.

The same goes for ships that certainly have crew onboard that could have tried to steer it away or at least honk to the beach goers.

And there is no ending. Omg... just endless baits without closure. So much wasted time.

Covertly BDSM movie
26 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Weird and bizzare BDSM-ish movie with lots of unexpected twists and turns. I didn't quite get it at first, but the more I think about it, the more I believe it was covertly made for BDSM crew. He fell in love with her while being her slave and had enough of her when their life started getting conventionally boring.

And that's about it. I need to write more required characters in order to post this comment.

I believe you would enjoy this movie if you are into BSDM relationships and prefer arty, bizzare movies. There is a sexual tension between main characters, plus they are good looking. Removing a bullet from her vagina was weirdly hot.

Where are the alligators?
15 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't read the whole book, so my review will be more from a perspective of someone who hasn't read it.

Movie is a fairy-tale. The scenery is from a tv commercial - wonderful but unbelievable. There is a 6 years old girl that is living alone in some kind of swamp-heaven. No mosquitoes, no alligators, nothing dangerous, no real dirt, no sicknesses, no need for dentist. She is selling shells, driving a boat, having nice clothes. They don't show technical hardships and struggles that she had to go through while growing up on her own. And that's just the start.

Unlike other uneducated swamp people, this completely lone child, instead of going feral, somehow manages to blossom into a well-spoken, gentle soul that falls in love with prince charming who teaches her to read over the summer, so she ends up publishing books. Yeah, right.

Then she somehow turns into a smart killer and fools the whole courtroom. So it's not even the passionate, feral-type of murder, as you would expect from someone who has been abounded and abused all her life. It's a calculated murder, with a carefully plotted alibi. Even more dramatically, it was executed in just an hour, in the middle of nowhere.

So, Hallmark-like movie with lots of plot holes.

But I do think I understand why people love it. They root for her. I rooted for her. We want justice and her to succeed. We are rooting for happy end for this abounded child. And she, against all odds, manages to give us that satisfaction.

She survived, blossomed, educated herself, became a scientist, published books. On top of that, even though she knows only one boy in the whole world, he happens to be the loveliest guy on earth, in the middle of the swamp. He adores her and ends up spending lovely life with her.

How many of you managed to accomplish all that in life, with your fairly privileged upbringing compared to hers? Right.

And yup she even killed the ba*tard who tried to rape her, ticking all the satisfaction-boxes!

Oh, did I mention that she inherited 1.25km2 of beaches and forests? The ultimate fairy tale.

Interesting topic
10 March 2023
Here is 9 for the chosen topic! I've followed MH370 situation very closely back in 2014 and the mystery always puzzled me. I remember reading the list of passengers on one website and it was suspicious that there were over 20 or 30 people on board from an important semiconductor factory. Semiconductor market was (maybe still is?) very tight and involved some sensitive use cases.

Hence, for me, French journalist's theory makes the most sense. Maybe the cargo was somehow related to semiconductors? Wish they explored that cargo lead more thoroughly and who it belonged to.

Btw, an aviation journalist from NYC was given too much air time! He sounds like a total wacko, presenting the most ridiculous theories without any evidence. Why so much time to him?

His ex-group sounds credible though, but I wouldnt put my blind faith in Inmarsat like they do. I think it blinds them to explore other options. They sound like they could contribute a lot on discovering the truth though.

Btw, that guy finding debris wherever he goes in eastern africa looks suspicious. Like, wth?!

There are definitely high-level (tries of) cover ups. I am happy that families are still fighting this! Hopefully one day we'll find out the truth.

The autopsy is the best story!
16 December 2022
Even if you don't want to watch the whole series, you should watch The Autopsy. Very, very original story. Wow! Well done. 9/10

Pickmans's Model and Dreams in the Witch house weren't my cup of tea, but nevertheless interesting if you are into that type of horror. Both 5/10

Graveyard Rats is dark, interesting and original. 7/10.

Lot 36 had a potential and a great actor, but the ending seems cheap, rushed and unsatisfactory. 6/10.

The Outside is a social commentary, done in an original way. 7/10.

The Viewing is extremely stylish, but the end is weird and disconected from the story. 9/10 for the first 50min of the story when nothing scary happens and 3/10 for the "scary" ending.

The Murmuring is more like an intense drama with some ghosts. 6/10

I am glad that I watched the series, as there are some original stories, especially The Autopsy. I liked that the stories were so diverse in style. Some could have been shortened though.

The House (III) (2022)

Nice animation, 2 out of 3 stories are interesting
7 December 2022
Animation in all three is superb.

However the stories are a mixed bag.

The first story seems like a warning "watch out what you wish for", especially related to gifts and money that you haven't earned. Sometimes it can entrap you. In this case, the house became a prison and a nut house for those who accepted it. 6/10

The second story is disqusting and pointless. Maybe writer wanted to hint something about obsessions, but it neverthless seemed pointless. Or I didn't get it? 3/10

The third story is the best. It's about trying to let go of your past or a bad life, while that's the only thing you have ever known. Sometimes we find it hard to let go and hence behave irrationally as 'unknown' second chance may seem more scary than our 'known' bad life. 8/10.

Wow! Loved it! Hilarious and original
4 November 2022
So many plot twists and absurd and entertaining situations. Everything about this serial is original, which makes it very refreshing. I feel sorry for those who don't get this type of humor.

Will there be a Season 3? Please HBO, make it happen.. please please

There is enough to continue the story and considering that each episode was better than the other, I would expect the third Season to be remarkable. By the end of the second season, every sentence or act has an unexpected satire or funny plot. That's truly something. The canibal scenes were hilarious.

Great job team, and thanks for making a comedy in space. I am a big fan of futuristic comedy. That said, whoever loved this, should go watch Big Bug.

Watchable romcom
11 October 2022
I dont watch romcoms very often, and when I do, they are usually bad. This one is a bit better than average though. Tom Hooper is super hot and hope I'll see him in more movies, with more suitable match and better chemistry between them.

Overall, this is an easy going, "enemies to lovers" movie, with happy ending. It is a bit over the top though and quite unbelievable, but still works if you are into romcoms. Overall, I am not disapointed and it ended up being better than expected. You could see some effort, especially when compared to lack of decent, light movies on Netflix.

That said.. a steamy scene with Tom Hooper would make it much, much better! Another male character was also good looking.

Average and should have been cut in half
23 August 2022
This should have been 4 episodes, not 9. The story drags and most of the time is drama instead of horror. Characters were well developed though due to all these drama scenes.

That said, this serial is trying too hard to be everything but ends up being a bit confusing with too many mystery plots, some uneccesary. Picking one of the stories to focus on would already be good enough.

It's still watchable, as its different than the usual stuff on Netflix, just have your finger on fast forward for drama (soap like) scenes.

What an effort! Amazing and lovely
18 August 2022
For a start, I am stunned at the level of effort and patience that this man has put into tracking the octopus and trying to understand her behaviour, while diving every day in the freezing ocean. And the way he draws and maps that part of the ocean.. Extraordinary effort.

I am also stunned at the intelligence of the octopus! From using different tools for different purposes, playing with fish, enjoying touch, to incredible problem solving strategies that she needs to come up with in a split second. Wow. Not to mention incredible ways of camouflage, changing colors, shape of her skin surface and amazing ability to regenerate.

I am never gonna eat octopus again, and I am sure this movie has converted hundreds of thousands of other people to do the same. So there goes that. If only that octopus knew how she helped her kind!

At the same time, documentary is incredibly emotional due to relationship that these two have. And curiously, their relationship is not built on any type of usual reward/bribe/feeding dynamic that is common when one is befriending an animal. This makes octopuses even more magical and interesting.

Very cute short movie
2 August 2022
You will enjoy it, it's a feel good, sweet movie about boy and girl that started playing Rock Paper Scissors when their cars stopped at the traffic light, and their cute rush to exchange numbers before the lights turn green.

Only 6min long. HBO should list more movies like this. Teens love short format, we are in a TikTok era after all. My teen loved it! It shows how small, friendly acts can change our lives and it's particularly encouraging for shy kids.

Dissapointing, should have been a movie
28 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Story drags and drags and drags... Plot seemed promising and interesting in the first few minutes, but it becomes obvious very quickly that the execution is bad. Too many plot holes: psychiatric prison with serial killer but no security. Then there are unreasonable decisions being made, like bringing kids to prison, letting prisoners walk around during assault, letting serial killer walk around and give advices instead of handcuffing him to some pipe at least, plus no one in the world is noticing that the prison has been under attack the whole night. Ridiculous.

I've stopped watching after Episode 2. And glad I did, since I've read in reviews that there is no explanation at the end. And btw, the only thing that might motivate you to keep watching till the end is answer to the question "why is a military-like organisation trying to break from jail this notorious serial killer". I guess there is no explanation for that at the end, hence I am gonna stop watching it. Frustrating, but I can't spend my time on something this mediocre.

Enjoyable with great actors
15 July 2022
I am quite surprised with this little Nazi Zombie movie. English dubbing is the best I've ever seen.

Some things could have been done better, but not sure with this budget though.

Dialogues are well written, acting is enjoyable. Interesting characters, easy to remember. It's almost a dark comedy but carefuly done so it never really goes into a real comedy or parody. It just makes it light-hearted enough, like there is a bit of Belini/Felini influence there. Definitely worth a watch, especially if you are tired of same old hollywood zombie movies. Oh and if you are tired of partisan/nationalists post-war tension going into the 21st century, you will find this movie quite enjoyable, like a third "possible" outcome of the war. Cute.

Shifting genres
20 June 2022
Interesting concept and movie had some potential at first, but there was no consistency. Weirdly, the genres of the movie changed a few times. And this ruined the movie. What was supposed to be a tense psychological horror, turned into some sort of light-hearted comedy-action.

Acting is so and so, nothing to write home about. There was a bit of overexplaining going on, instead of keeping the mystery afloat. Forgetable movie that could have been decent and interesting.

Better than expected
18 June 2022
I don't understand all the bad reviews. Welcome to Eden has an interesting and original plot in a lovely setting. Yes, there are some plot holes and unreasonable reactions of characters. Some things could have been better thought out. Middle episodes could have been cut a bit. But overall, series gives us a fresh premise, with very unique and strange cliffhanger that made me want season 2.

When it comes to Netflix series, this is one of the better lately. Watch it if you like island/sea setting, Squid Game esthetic, modern cults and mystery. It's better than 100 series. 100 was boring and you couldnt remember the characters.

Hope for a second season - "Lost" on steroids
13 June 2022
Unexpectedly, series kept me hooked, binged on it.

It's like action, surreal thriller and horror combined into one. Great acting, camera work and amazing Amazonian setting. Loved the pace, never dull, full of good action and suspense. Main actor is an eye candy, so hot!

But this season left us with so many puzzles missing! Hope there will be a second one.
