This show is streets ahead!
A sit-com of this quality should be downright illegal. It's funny, thought provoking and just purely entertaining. The show went through some rough patches, including the gas leak year, but you will have no problem finding a few laughs with this diamond. #SixSeasonsAndAMovie !
Haikyû!! (2014)
Give it a chance (ball!)
Haikyuu!! is a show I struggle to express my feelings for, because nothing would do it justice. It has its flaws, yes, but what this show manages to do is a complete '180' when compared to most sport animes. Haikyuu!! has no antagonist, which is very refreshing. It forces you to care for every player and every team. The character development for almost every character in the series is immaculate. From realizing passion, to understanding how to improve. If you've ever played sport, Haikyuu!! will give you a sense of adrenaline and nostalgia. Regardless of what sport you play, this show will manage to astound you in it's relatability. Every character in karasuno has an arc of some sort, which makes you care deeply about all of them, and that's what Haikyuu!! does best. It makes you care.
Violet Evergarden (2018)
Grab a box of tissues...or maybe three boxes.
Violet Evergarden will leave you sobbing in multiple different episodes without fail. It's beautiful, vivid animation compliments it's heart-breaking moments. The way the writers use Violet's profession as a means to not only learn more about a phrase, but to tell the stories of multiple different people is pure genius. A smart, well written, well animated show.
Ping Pong the Animation (2014)
Beautiful animation with a compelling story
Ping Pong The Animation is a relatable, realistic embodiment of the sometimes torturous nature of professional sport, and how some athletes lose sight of why they started playing in the first place. A wonderful coming of age story with an incredibly unique, refreshing, and ultimately mesmerizing animation style.
