The Equalizer (2021)
I think a lot of the negative reviews are bogus
I'd probably give this an 8/10 but I felt the need to balance out the bs. The first episode hooked me. I was a fan of the original with Edward Woodward and of course the Denzel Washington movies and I still like this so far. Worth watching for more.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
A fun ride of a movie!!
A lot of the negative reviews seem pretty ridiculous. It's not meant to be Schindler's List or the Titanic. This was a fun movie!!! It's about a group of morally ambivalent women (who work too closely with or for villains) and they're tired of being used and abused, and they're not gonna take it anymore. It's colorful, funny, with great action and fight scenes and Ewan MacGregor plays a surprisingly great maniacal bad guy.
Supernatural: Lebanon (2019)
A bittersweet gift for the SPN fandom.
I'm not going to lie, I love Kurt Fuller in everything he does. Even when he plays dick angel, Zach. H
The real amazing part of this episode is that the Winchester family is finally complete again! And even though it couldn't last it was so superbly done. I broke my heart.
Legends of Tomorrow: Tender Is the Nate (2018)
This show keeps getting better!
I like how all the characters are meshing and how the storyline and subplots are working out.
Side note: I really love Mona!!
Charmed (2018)
Best when you think of this series on its own
As a huge fan of the original series, I can understand the backlash on this show. They didn't include any of the original cast. However, on its own, without linking it to the original series, I think it has the power to stand on it's own if given the chance. I like the cast diversity and the modernization of the story. I hope to see more to make a more complete decision.
The Man in the Brown Suit (1989)
OK but Book is better
This movie definitely reinforces my policy of watching a movie before reading the book that it is based on. This movie is fine if you watch it and then read the book, almost like a warm up for the actual story. Rue McClanahan and Edward Woodward save this movie! Without their believable quirkiness so much of this movie would have been both over the top and silly. They keep it moving in the right direction when at times it can feel like it's trying to veer off course a little. The book itself is Wonderful! One of my favorites of Agatha Christie's. But I don't know if my review of the movie would have been as favorable if I'd gotten my hands on the book first.
