American Psycho II: All American Girl (2002)
What is this?
From the first 5 minutes of the movie, I came to the conclusion that it would have made a good USA Original Movie, you know those ones that are on Saturdays at 2 in the afternoon. It however, was a terrible sequel to American Psycho. You have to take in mind that American Psycho was not meant to be a franchise, it was just supposed to be the one movie, one brilliant and darkly comedic movie. Lions Gate saw the chance to milk more money of the cult fan base that adored the original AP. This movie completely ruined the end of the first one, there were so many questions you were left to go over following Bateman's admission. AP2 basically says "Bateman was real, he killed people, and eventually was killed by a 12 year old girl." So my suggestion is tear off American Psycho from the title and call it All American Girl. Mila Kunis could have drawn a decent interest in her own original idea horror movie.
Wet Hot American Summer (2001)
Just more proof that MTV was stupid for ending The State.
This movie is hillarious and any fan of The State will love it. Most of the cast is there, and the non-castmembers like David Hyde Pierce and Janeane offer up top notch performances. Even Molly Shannon was pretty funny in this and I can't stand her or anything else she has ever done. It just angers me that a great comedy like this didn't get any attention or nation wide releases, but any stupid teen comedy featuring an American Pie cast member and a nifty pop punk filled soundtrack can get into every theater in America.
Freddy Got Fingered (2001)
Are Tom Green's 15 minutes at least close to over yet?
Are you like me and can just picture the studio executive who green lighted this one. "Hmmm, the kids sure love this Tom Green show." And then the unaware old man quickly retreats back to his fantasy world where his opinion on what sounds like a good idea is still meaningful. He then calls his secretary on the phone and tells her to get a movie deal ready for Carrot Top, cause he hears he's a pretty happening cat as well.
Tom Green's show was hillarious because it showed the real reactions of people to his insane stunts and pranks. It isn't funny when the people reacting are paid actors and Tom just includes as much crude, disgusting humor as he can to prove that he is still on the cutting edge of comedy. Tom, go back to what your good at and get out of Hollywood while the kids still think your funny.
Killer Bud (2001)
Anyone who buys or rents this shouldn't be allowed money.
The only reason I watched this was because my overly excited friend shelled out 20 something dollars for the DVD of this movie and told me it was "hillarious". Once the novelty of David Faustino and Corin Nemec in a movie wears off, so does your interest. There are very few comedies I can watch and not laugh once, and this was one of them. Note to all people who always say "well there are some funny parts", a few funny parts do not make a funny movie. You should laugh all the way through a comedy, not just a few seconds.
