WW2's Oceans 11
16 April 2024
The movie is fun for the most part, but not the strongest Ritchie film. The trailer is a great representation of the film - the cheekiness, costumes, violence, and Henry Cavill's twirly mustache. If you liked the trailer, you'll probably enjoy the film.

I do think the movie could've been a lot more but was bogged down by the "true story" aspect. There are a few scenes that felt very Tarantino-esque in its hyper violence or intensity, but likely couldn't be taken further because of the limitations of a true story. While not mad at the casting, they could've skipped on giving Alan Ritchson the crappy danish accent. And when Eiza Gonzalez's character's ethnicity is introduced, you'll probably raise an eyebrow considering she's a Mexican actress.

Don't Worry Darling (I) (2022)

Killing me softly
15 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Or at least that's what I thought the title was. The highlights are def the acting from Florence and Harry. Set design. Cinematography.. no except the scene where the camera rotated around six characters for 30sec at the house party was a little nauseating. Saw it in imax and the theater rumbled with the eerie soundtrack which was cool.

Not a lot of explaining happened despite the 2hr runtime. The plane? The red suit workers? Jack dancing until exhaustion? Gemma Chan's entirely unnecessary role? Alice's reset? Downloaded children? Alice popping lights with her mind and seemingly unlocking violet's memories? Alice missing work?

Taika brings back parody films from the 2000s!
8 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure what I watched - a parody of Thor (Meet the Spartans, Superhero Movie) or a secret sequel of 2005's Sky High. Christian Bale did a good job as a Mad Max Fury Road character. Russell Crowe does a mediocre Greek Borat impersonation at some point. No worries though, he'll get two years to perfect his accent as the next Thor villain.
