The Creator (2023)
That's what I love Sci-Fi!
Today it's been more than two weeks since I went to see this movie in the cinema. I literally had no hope of what I was going to find in it. Still, this movie positively surprised me.
In this review I want to leave aside the issue of the cast. We all know that they played an impressive role and that this film would not be the same without those actors.
I want to dive deeper into the aesthetics section and the small but great story it tells. If a friend of yours tells you what the movie is about without having personally experienced it, it wouldn't make much sense. Aesthetically, this film is totally stunning, like most science fiction films of recent years.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Good Final for a Great Story... Isn't it?
Jurassic Park is already 30 years old, and what a great way to celebrate its anniversary than by seeing the final movie of a cult-considered saga; because everything in this film is nostalgia for the first films.
I'm not saying it because they have been able to contact the actors of the original saga almost 30 years later, that's because every Jurassic Movie that comes out new in theaters makes you feel nostalgic and hype in equal measure.
Obviously one must never forget what actors such as Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard brought to this new Jurassic trilogy. These last two actors that I have mentioned give a lot of sense to what is the cherry on top of 3 decades of work.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
That's what I love DC films!
It's been about two years since this movie came out in theaters, but I just saw it yesterday for the first time. I had literally no expectations of anything except some bits that I saw in its official trailers.
Anyway, in my opinion this film works as a reboot of that comic book film adaptation that "failed" in 2017 starring Will Smith and the awful Joker played by Jared Leto. They did a great job rescuing Margot Robbie to reprise the role of Harley Queen.
But there's some things that I didn't expected: I didn't realised that the Shark is played by Sylvester Stallone, the man behind Rambo. Also, I feel disappointed when Pete Davidson dies at the beginning of the film.
Astérix & Obélix : L'empire du milieu (2023)
GOOD COMEBACK FOR A GREAT SAGA
I really, really love Asterix & Obelix films, so I can try to explain my review with all the details:
When I saw the first trailer of the movie (4 months ago) I jumped out of my couch with excitement, because it's been like 10 years since the last live-action movie. Then, when I finished watching it I feel a little disappointed 'cause the role of Obelix isn't played by the same actor (Gerard Depardieu); but on the other I really like the cast, I knew it from other series, movies or YouTube videos.
When the second and the release trailer came out (a few months ago), I wrapped myself into the adventure of this two characters in the Middle Kingdom, and also I feel very surprised about how the Gallic Village had changed into through all of this years.
And finally, approximately 1 week ago I saw the film for the first time; and I really loved it too much. Too bad it didn't gross enough to be a blockbuster movie, but at least it's worth going to see.
PD: This review hasn't any spoilers, so feel free to read it and imagine how does the movie feel like.
Jaws (1975)
Not as good as it's said
Believe it or not, yesterday I saw this film for the first time; despite being almost 50 years old. I expected the movie to have a little more action, but being from that time you can't ask for much. My first impressions of this movie were a little lacking, and for me I was a bit disappointed of it.
Don't criticize me moviegoers, but I have too strange tastes for this type of film. It is true that I like what Steven Spielberg does and I adore his other works, but I think this "first part" is a bit weak; despite being a jewel in the history of cinema. So if you're reading this, just think as you want.
Black Adam (2022)
DC always make good movies.
Ok, I'm going to give you my completely honest opinion about this movie, and I don't want people to be angry with what I'm going to say right now.
First of all, I've not read any comic of this character, so sorry for my ignorance. But I think that Dwayne Johnson makes a great acting of Black Adam.
And not only him, Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate was so incredible. And the cameos that you can see on the film was unpredictably good for me.
People complain that DC always made bad movies, when in fact the movies they make surpass even those of MARVEL and this masterpiece is a clear example of it.
The Batman (2022)
THE VAMPIRE RETURNS GREAT
I need to be honest, I just wanted to watch this film because I liked the Robert Pattinson's acting in the hole Twilight saga. I think that most of people don't agree with me, but he's a perfect batman actor.
The last thing I wanted to say is that I didn't know that Oz is played by Collin Farrell. I feel surprised about that.
Metegol (2013)
It ages well despite his almost 10 years
A few weeks ago, I decided to watch this spanish animation film for the first time. I've never watched until now, the only thing I could remember for this year is a scene which 4 "Green" players are finding their friends and also their "Red" enemies.
After seeing it completely, I can tell you that is a fantastic 3D film that is worth seeing alone, with your friends and also with your children. It doesn't matter how old you are. If you're a football/soccer fan, this will be your movie.
The Whole Nine Yards (2000)
Matthew Perry's Best Movie
After having seen this movie about 10 times myself (in addition to its sequel), I've come to the conclusion that Matthew Perry's performance in it is very impressive.
Obviously we must remember that this actor has already made his first steps in comedy series such as F. R. I. E. N. D. S and Growing Pains.
But other than that, the role of the clumsy dentist with suicidal thoughts fits him like a glove.
Dune (2021)
The first parts are always good.
It has very good scenery and acoustics for a science fiction movie, even being based on the novel of the same name. (I've never read the 21 books of this saga) The cast of this movie is too brutal, except that some come out only at the beginning and at the end. But for everything else it is a great movie, I hope the second part is more entertaining and overwhelming in every way.
The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008)
Great piece!
This night I saw this movie for the first time and I like it. The plot probably was the same as other films that I saw but nevertheless, it's so fantastic. I knew some of the actors of it like Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Charlie and the chocolate factory), Seth Green (The Interview, The Green Hornet) and Ron Perlman (Police Academy).
The Angry Video Game Nerd (2004)
MASTERPIECE
According to the hole AVGN community, this guy is the best Retro gamer critic for the history.
Zombillénium (2017)
A great friendly-halloween movie
Nearly 2 months ago, I saw this film for the first time. I didn't know that the movie is based on the novel trilogy or this exists. But, it has a inspring and colourful version of the Halloween festivity for all ages.
It tells the story about an angry father who is careless with his daughter and he discovered a hole amusement park based on halloween. But, he hadn't a very lucky day.
After I saw this masterpiece I wonder to read the novels about it. So, let's try it out!
Os Carrinhos em: A Grande Corrida (2006)
It's a bit Good
It has probably better animation than Ratatoing and so boring backgrounds, but I think that definitely is good as a copy of Cars. Probably, the plot was different, but who cares?
Ratatoing (2007)
It's not as bad as they say
Many years ago, I saw this "film" for the first time. I've never heard about that before, but strangely my family gave a movie pack that also included other titles such as "The adventures of Rataldo", "Gladiformers" and the masterpiece "The Little Cars".
This movies are made by the same company. It's called "Video Brinquedo", and his work is to copy all popular animation films. For example, this movie is a plagiarism of the Disney's film "Ratattouille".
It's too much visible that the used a low budget animation resource, but the plot it's very "different".
