The Family Plan (2023)
really good entertainment
I knew nothing of this movie, but decided to watch it, because Mark Wahlberg usually delivers a good story and a great performance. I was not disappointed, but loved every moment of it.
I wont give away the storyline, but Wahlberg plays two different characters and he does it really well, so it is clear, which one he is at any time.
His wifes role is well defined and not surperficial, as many female roles tend to be and she has several moments of glory, where she gets to shine.
The kids parts could have used more work from the writers, if they are to intrest younger viewers, but towards the end of the movie, they got better.
Well worth watching and I might even watch it again with my GF.
Heels (2021)
Absolutely perfect
This is a good show to binge. Problem is, it's really hard to stop and you keep grabbing one episode too many, so you get past your bedtime, but it's worth it. I anjoy the characters, the plot and the changes in the timeline. You get to piece it all together bit by bit, while entertained all the way. Season 2 was just released tonight and I am already hoping for a season 3 soon. Gotta love this masterpiece. You wont be disappointed.
I will praise the show some more, because I have to use 106 more caracters, so strap in and read on or just skip the rest and start watching a show as god as breaking bad, maybe even better...
The List (2023)
terrible, terrible, terrible
Dialogue is mostly made up of cliches, plot is unsurprising, acting is bland and the characters are absurd and unnuanced. All in all a terrible experience and really a total waste of time. Why didn't anyone pull the brakes on this, before getting this far?
The movie suffers mostly from the writers lack of imagination, like the politician without empathy, the weddingplanner without empathy, the boyfriend without empathy (sorry, did I repeat myself? Maybe I should be a script writer), the conversations without depth, the sad sighs from the audience, when the dialogue is trying to be funny.
Maybe just add som kittens and puppies, so there could be something interesting to watch, while wasting precious time on this.
I simply can not recomend this to anyone and I don't know, how the movie ends, because like my ex-wifes cooking, I couldn't finish it all.
Ingen kender dagen (2022)
Terrible and uninteresting
The whole movie is boring and slow and keeps information hidden from you, to try to get you to watch it all. I did and I was just as disappointed, as I expected to be. NOTHING happens and NOTHING is connected, just random half-stories with people, that don't know each other and half the stories don't even reveal the plot or the reason for people acting weird. Like at the wedding, where we never find out, what happened 10 years earlier or the people in the Bed and Breakfast, where we never get a reaction from (no need to spoil it here)
Skip this movie and watch something, that was actually made by people, that care about the audience and their viewing experience.
Lady Driver (2020)
Not everyone can act
Not everyone can act and this movie shows it. The actors are basically talentless and unable to deliver a line with any credibility at all. The script is mediocre at best and it's easy to see, how they just copied good movies, but wasn't able to find actors with enough personality to fill out their roles. And as usual these days, all guys are bad, all girls are perfect, because we have to hate males now. On a scale of worth seeing to garbage, I'd stay away. Nothing about this movie sticks to memory. It's like drinking a coke without bubbles (and flavour)
The Naked Cage (1986)
Terrible waste of time
After reading the reviews, I thought I would give it a chance and ended up regretting it almost instantly. The acting is terrible, especially the extras, who seem to have no clue what to do in the big fight scenes. The characters are stale and have no depth and the interesting scenes are far too short. Give it a miss. There are much better things to do with your life.
Til vi falder (2018)
I dare you to stay awake
Incredibly boring story with almost no storyline. Balancing on the edge of a mystery, a psychological thriller, an evolutionary plot, but never manages to be anything other than a short uninteresting view into the lives of an traumatized couple, that lost their son many years earlier. The characters seem superficial and their inner battles never seem to get our attention. The pathetic attempt at keeping us watching by implying that their son was murdered, is just that: pathetic. The mystery never takes off and everything just becomes bland and boring. I am really proud of myself, for watching it all, but also feel cheated, that the promises made by the movie, never got fulfilled. Stay away from this.
The Festival (2018)
Made me laugh out loid several times
I tend to giggle on the inside, but this movie really got me going and I found myself laughing out really loud on several occasions and in one scene, where something looked really painfull, I cringed and felt the pain myself. Wife was really entertained too. Having attende musicfestival myself, I guess a lot of the things happening, reminded me of that. Not a masterpiece, but absolutely enjoyable.
American Moon (2017)
A masterpiece
This documentary is so good, that it should be the one, all other documentaries are measured by. It looks objectively on the moonlanding and the years leading up to the moonlanding and answers the questions, that both the believers and the deniers ask and has expert photographers look at the photos from the landing.
After watching this documentary, there can only be one side left in the agelong debate: "Did the Americans land on the moon in 1969".
You be the judge after watching.
Setup (2011)
Is the acting or the script worse?
I was looking forward to this movie, because I like Bruce Willis' personality, and Bruce delivered as he always does. Still, if you've seen one movie with Bruce, you have seen them all. He never seems to change. Ryan Phillippe does a good job acting too and even manages to show how he is torn between the expectations of his father and his need to live his life the way he wants to. 50 cent however is a disaster. No facial expression, no change in his voice and no right to be in a movie ever. He just can't act! Jenna Dewan-Tatum tries to show character in her part, but fails too.
The script could have been a good story, but it just wont flow. It breaks and stalls and the terrible acting doesn't help it at all.
It bothers me that I watched the whole movie, hoping that it would pick up speed or get me interested, but it didn't. Not worth watching!
Pineapple Express (2008)
Like having sex with your mother
Watching this movie is like having sex with your mother. All the elements might seem to be there to have a great time, but it just doesn't feel right.
Some of the jokes are used several times in the movie. When you see it the first time, you might smile inside if you're stoned or have an IQ of 70, but the following times, you tend to see the joke coming.
Some of the characters are believable and well thought out, but some of the characters like the criminals, have sides to them, that are out of character. The problem is that they aren't wacky enough to be funny, so they end up just being out of character instead.
The movie seems like something a group of teens decided to make for fun and not something you would expect from professional movie makers.
I usually like Seth Rogens work, but when you pair him with a group of actors, that never seem to make a decent movie, they cast a shadow of incompetence and amateurism over him, that he can't get out off.
Avoid this movie unless you like the equally crappy scary movie series. If you do, you might giggle a few times, but I didn't.
