I enjoyed the general premise of the show, but two things left me with a bad after-taste. First the film was only 80 minutes long. It's no secret that listing times and actual start times for a movie are often 10 minutes apart.
This particular film had at least 20 minutes of advertisements. Second, Detective Burton had way too many reasons to question Laramie but chose not to. In fact, Burton was almost identical to Columbo with his "There's just one more thing..." I would have added 10-15 more minutes to the movie by having Burton at least semi-question Laramie. For example, when Laramie left the scene of the motorcycle accident, he pushed on the wheel/tire to get up from kneeling. It was never questioned why one of Laramie's pens was at the scene of the accident. Yes it could have been legitimately obtained by the biker, but it was never even questioned. The serial number on the movie-set gun could have been tracked to whatever film was using it at the time. Burton was not even curious, or at least not curious enough. Several hours elapsed between the time Laramie "batted" the third guy to death and when the fourth guy cut himself breaking the window pane of the deceased. Forensics could have eliminated the window breaker from being a suspect because his blood would have not been exposed to air as long as the dead guy. Do those cameras that take pictures of your license plate as you speed through the intersection actually produce a flash like that? If so, wouldn't that border on dangerous to suddenly have a very bright light flashed in front of you?
