FIFA 22 (2021)
Its not football
It is lazy cashgrab with gameplay worse that pes 2010 (fun thing that new pes is trash too)
Phisics of this game is just terrible. I wonder if devs played football even once in their life or even watched it on the TV screen
Shots are pathetic, ball is flying so slowly after player hits it that goalkeepers take almost every shot. You will never score from outside the box, dont waste your time trying to shoot from distance. "More than 20 meters from the goal is too big of a distance to score" this devs might think. Looks like there are so little scripts/variants about how the shot will go and how the keeper will react so almost every shot and save or goal looks the same.
I never scored a single goal or even dangerous shot from corner kick, even the top players like Harry Cane cant win the air after corner kick.
Penalty shots are such a pain in the ..., if you play vs player 2 he either see where you are going to strike cause for some idiotic reason fifa has a literal aim for this shots or neither you and your opponent can see where you are going to hit and you easyly miss the goal cause stupid system needs you to literally aim and it is a bit hard if you cant see where is your aim at the moment. Me and my friend played a few series of penalty shots being unable to score and the one who scored even one penalty won the series. Its just embarassing.
But the worst thing is described HERE:
THE DAMN AUTOBALANCE or what can i call it. The situation when your team is turning to a brick and you can tell right from the start of the game that you are not winning this. Becasue your players are not moving, not opening, not going to attack no matter what options you change, even if you are using the most offensive options you can - your players just stand and not playing the game. And ofc your passes accuracy suddenly decreases like twice and defenders cant hit the ball or cover players. And that is the way you lose 0:3 to a guy that you have beaten 5 times in a row with 3-0, 4-2, 4-0, 4-2, 6-0 scores. Its just the game that is playing against you when some stupid script is deciding it will. Terrible experiece, bad game.
Elden Ring (2022)
Rather mediocre game by itself and worst souls game
1st - i completed the game, killed all bosses, finished most quests and spent more than 100 hours in the game and overall i am souls games veteran, so it is not your average "i killed 1 boss, game is great 10/10!!!1111" review
Pros:
- some death animations after you kill an enemy with heavy weapon are looks cool and fresh
- jumping attacks are feels like a good addition to combat system
- some ashes of war are fun to use and this mechanic have potential
- beautiful views here and there aroud the open world
Cons:
- SAME BOSSES OVER AND OVER. Idk why there are no mentions about it in other reviews, but its just awfull. You will face most of the bosses in this game 3 to 4 times each. Then you will face 2 of the same kind together, then some bosses will become regular enemy to be faced in 10 different regions. Like seriously? The same miniboss in 10 different locations? It feels like there is less than 20 unique bosses overall and nearly 100 boss fights
- same enemies over and over. Same soldiers but in different color, same wolfs but higher lvl. The size of the game is huge and the number of enemy types is just not enough to make it feel alive
- same dungeons, there are basically 3 types of dungeons, a tomb, a mine and a chariot trashfest.
- horse combat, its to shallow, easy and boring
- PVP? Is it even there? I get 0 invasions, then i tried to invade for a few times, i succeded only once after about 5 minutes of wait, just why you broke the thing that work?
- poor balance. Oh, where do i start...
- poise - i cant feel any role of a poise in this game, naked or heavy armor i got staggered anyway. Btw horse staggers from any touch and gets you stunlocked if there is more that 1 enemy for sure. Ofc you cant level or arm horse
- i dont see any role of armor at all - like mb devs should learn some basic physics. If an arrow hit a naked guy and a guy in plated armor what is the damage difference should be? ER devs think that the defference is about 10-20% at best
- most of weapons are not gonna be used cause they are to weak compared to some other weapons with imbalanced ashes of war or collosal weapons
- AI. It feels like it didnt evolve a single bit since Dark Souls 1. Most of enemies are stupid, deaf, blind, passive, use no tactics, dont interact with eachother or cooperate
- Bosses AI is another story, its varies from full agro spam mode to total passive afk and i dont understand why it is so and why do they code it that way
- Malenia. Its poor balanced and overall weak boss with 1 or 2 stupid ultra op attack to oneshot players even with 1700-1800 hp. One of the worst bosses in souls series if not the worst
- quests, its not getting any better, you either do it with wiki open or you have about 100 hours more to spare to visit every single place in huge openworld game after every interaction with NPC
- atmosphere, imho, game has good and recognisible visual style, but i feel like it just dont suit it.
- Endgame movie...in my scenario the reward you get for completing the game exploring almost every corner and finding multiple key secrets was 5 second poorly drawen animated picture. Thx, Hidetaka, Haha, thats what i deserve to play your game, lol
To sum things up, this game would be better without half empty open world with not enough content to fill it with. The repetativeness and critical lack of diversity just kills it in pair with huge duration. Imho, any souls game is better that Elden ring.
Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020)
20% gool stuff, 80% disapointment
Tbh the ending of the game is so bad and exhausting that i truly wanted to rate it 1/10 after beating the story (it is just a constant tiresome streak of bosses one after the other - terrible game design decision, imo. I was like "just end it already, its getting worst and more stupid with every next boss fight in a row").
But with all rage aside it is worth a 5/10, and 4/10 if it would be a fresh new title, not world famous game remake with tons of nostalgia involved.
Plot - it is ok while it sticks to the original, but all this new whispers nonsence is total garbage and shouldnt exist
Combat - it feels incomplete. It is better than in ff15, but still needs improvement. Sometimes camera doing stupid things, mobile enemies are pain cause AI is bad when it comes to measuring distance to land a hit with skills, so u can often miss unless you manually get to right distance.
Overall teammates AI is very poor, they are way too passive and u cant really change it unless you controll them manually. And u cant do this with 3 units at the same time when the combat is real time. So your main unit always gets his action gauge filled 3-4 times faster than 2 other units and it is annoying. Sometimes AI controlled teammates just stand and block or standing afk instead of doing something and it is strange that i could't find any settings to change their behavior. FF12 used to have 10 or 12 setting for each character (for example, use offensive magic if u face flying enemy for the characters with melee weapon, use healing item of magic if ally health drop below 40% etc). And in FF7 remake sometimes allies feels more like a burden than like useful help (example, boss use aoe attack and all your charactes got heavy damage, but only main character have enough action gauge to use heal cause other 2 are too passive, so you waste your turns to heal the other two and not doing damage while they are slowly accumutating their gauge). And the action gauge system itself have 1 problem - spamming enemies, like one guy at the end of the game that constatly throws powerfull attacks at you and you cant accumulate enough gauge to keep the pace.
But still the combat system have improved much since ff15 with no chance to abuse items finally (which is major problem to a most modern rpg's) and i hope square will polish it for FF16.
Graphics - main characters looking really good, Clouds greatsword on his back with materia is looking great, but overall indoors and outdoors are pretty mediocre, and i'm playing PS5 version.
Game design - game is just a gut and absolutelly linear, it has next to none exploration and many "you cant go there right now cause Hey cloud, my home is this way" moments are annoying and feels like just poor game design
Main problem is lenght. They literally stretched a good fast paced opening to a big adventure from original (it took about 7 hours to get through) to a boring and awfully slow 30 hours of cuscenes, filler content + commonplace sidequests and very slow mediocre gameplay. Everything in this game except for combat is painfully slow.
If this "game" would be twice shorter it would be only for the best. Same plot with more details and depth for 15 hours and it wouldn't fail the pace so much (but then it would be harder to sell it for AAA price ofc).
P. S. Funny to see all those 10/10 guys that obviously dont spend even 3 hours playing before making a reviev)
