Sustainable (2016)
Just beautiful
I don't know many movies that have this certain kind of atmosphere that just makes your inner life calm down and lets you watch in absolute tranquility with a dash of awe.
There are so many great perspectives in this movie, both in terms of camera and landscape, as well as in regards to mindset and attitude towards life.
Furthermore, there is a lot to learn from watching this piece, as many deep thinkers are interviewed, and there was a pleasant lack of what I would like to call "moral pandering".
I have never seen the concept of sustainability be presented in such harmony with nature, which is ultimately the way it should be displayed, because that's what it really is about.
Kamiarizuki no kodomo (2021)
You should watch this movie
This is a story about a girl who likes to run. Then her mother gets sick, but still comes to the girl's running competition at school. But going there is too much for the mother and so she dies. This set of repeating scenes makes up 90% of the movie. The remaining 10% shows the girl trying to deal with her grief by travelling to a fantasy world, and interacting with a child in demon cosplay and a talking white rabbit.
You don't have to watch the movie, because you literally just saw it.
I give this the single minimum star, and one star on top because somebody actually made the effort to produce it. I'm not sure if that shows great confidence or great masochism, but I'm willing to give due credit.
Ryan Long Is Challenged (2014)
Peerless
This is hands down the best comedy series I've seen in my life. Each twenty-minute episode is so densely packed with the most terrifying nonsense, which at the same time is so creative, original and well-performed that it completely overloaded my brain's humor center. The only reason I can imagine for somebody to not find this horrifyingly funny, is that they think it's a serious show. And I'm sure that's what many people think. Which is exactly what makes this series so great.
