Not Forgotten (2009)
4/10
Tries to be more original than it is
25 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I've been looking for a nice mystery movie to see and I came across Not Forgotten. After reading the many positive reviews here I decided that this is my movie! After watching it though, I was slightly disappointed. Maybe I just expect too much of a mystery, or maybe I have just seen way too many now and could figure out some of the things myself (not all though).

Throughout the movie I had the feeling that they had a much larger story to tell, but they just didn't have the time for it and so they just decided to tell as much as they can in 90 min, leaving a lot of things unexplained or undeveloped, at least for me. The story is interesting and has potential, but they way it was carried out was not so good in my opinion. I didn't really care for any of the characters. I thought they were presented quite...whats the word I am looking for..emotionless? I didn't feel that both Simon Baker and Paz Vega really cared for their characters. They are acceptable actors in general, but there was just something off here. I felt as if they just went through the script without putting too much in it. For some reason, this was very obvious to me during the movie. It just couldn't engage me.

As I mentioned before, they put way too many details that are left without explanation. OK, this really works for certain types of mysteries, but not really for this one. You just think "Why?". They would have been better off leaving some of them out. They constantly put new characters in and you wonder "Who are you? Why are you important?". Some events are also left completely unexplained. I don't want to give out any spoilers for the people who haven't seen it, but I will just say that I was not really impressed.

In general, it is a mystery with a good idea, but a mystery that tried to appear too original when in fact it really isn't. And trying so hard is what fails it.

It is definitely a movie I will soon Forget.

Triangle (2009)
9/10
One of the best mysteries lately
25 November 2009
This movie is really amazing. I recommend it a 100%. It plays with your mind from the very beginning until the very end. It just makes you think all the time and even when the credits roll you are left thinking and considering, and I mean that in the good way. Some movies leave you thinking "Why did that happen? It made no sense whatsoever.". Not this. However, in order to understand everything you must really pay attention to all the details, some lines, some specific shots and then I promise, it will all make sense. Of course, if you have someone to discuss it with after it is over, will make things a lot more interesting and engaging. I just want to say that this movie is not a horror and doesn't have any "jump" moments. It is a pure mystery and I am sure that any mystery fan would truly enjoy the experience.

I am not going to give away anything concerning the plot, because this will just spoil the pleasure from all the twists and turns this movie takes you through. This is my advice: Do not read anything about this movie or watch any trailers, before you actually see it. Believe me, it is going to be a lot more fun like this. The story is extremely engaging and the end is very satisfying. New elements are constantly added when you least expect them and the movie actually answers all the questions it asks, or at least provides you with enough clues to solve the puzzles yourself.

Melissa George gives probably her best performance up to date. She really helps a lot in making the movie what it is. She has a great potential in her as an actress and I hope this opens even more doors for her.

All I can say is, see this movie! You will not be disappointed and it will keep you guessing and guessing and then surely make you talk a lot about it. Don't you just love when that happens?

Alias (2001–2006)
9/10
"Alias"- one of the best TV- shows.
22 April 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I started watching this show from the very first episode 5 months ago and I just finished watching the last episode. I can only say that if you are wondering whether to watch or not Alias- just do it and you will not be disappointed. During the last few months I loved following Sydney Bristow in her adventures as an agent, as a friend, as a daughter, as a lover and finally as a mother.

I can not say that the show was all perfect- there were of course some episodes that were not that intriguing (I am talking mainly about season 4, which was the weakest for me), but still the majority of episodes and story lines are really well thought. Personally for me the first, the second and the last season were the best. The third was also not bad and lastly- the fourth. I was afraid that after the destroyal of SD-6 in the middle of the second season the show will get more boring, but no! It happened exactly the opposite and opened even more possibilities for character and story development. What's most interesting about this show is that it combines almost all kinds of TV- from action and mystery to drama and comedy. Its an overwhelming mix of entertainment and it will give you whatever you are looking for and even more. All of the characters truly grow on you. I think that there isn;t anyone who watches this show and doesn;t like Sydney of course..We have Michael Vaughn- her "angel", Jack Bristow- her father always trying to protect her even with the wrong means, Arvin Sloan- the guy who will always make u wonder if he is good or bad, Irina Derevko- Sydney's mother whose position in everything remains unclear until the very last episode. And of course there are many many others, each with his/her special personality but you will have to see them for yourself. What I loved while watching the show is that the story lines were developing throughout the whole series- some things which started in the very first season were explained in the last one (and yes, I am talking about Rambaldi's endgame and Sydney's role in it). You will always think you know something, but then it will turn out to be something else. I loved all the twists in the script as well as all the characters. And Jennifer Garner truly does a great job portraying Sydney. I think given the opportunity now she could become a great actress.

Most of the villains are really intriguing as characters (for me Sark, Ana and Kelly really did it) and most of the new characters fit really well within the show (I really really liked Rachel in season 5 and I can only be sorry that she didn't get enough screen time).

All in all, it is an amazing show, full of mysteries, drama an emotion that should be seen by every TV-show fan. So..just tune in the TV, or rent the DVD and just watch it...I am sure u will get hooked on it as I got. And it gave me a lot of sleepless nights just watching episode after episode...and I loved it!
