'The Sin of Nora Moran' is conveyed across a few different points of view and not at all in chronological order. It jumps from dream to memory to present time, generally without making any clear distinction between them. It's easy, as a viewer, to become a little confused about what did or not happen, or what was only imagined. And yet, that disorientation is what I find really makes the film. It ties it together by tearing it apart. The majority is from the perspective of Nora herself, and, being that she is a terribly shaken and traumatized young woman facing her own execution, the scattered, glassy-eyed story-telling really only makes sense. In addition, it's stretched out perfectly. By the time you're finally able to figure out exactly what's happened, there's little time left. It excellently reflects the desperation of the character on whom the last 15 or so minutes are centered. The resolution is not exactly satisfying, but neither was that of poor Nora Moran. Overall, it's a pretty good tragedy, and quite artistic for its time. I liked it :)

Not the strongest episode but rather interesting nonetheless

The lesbian reading of this episode seems to come naturally, although admittedly I'm likely biased in my interpretation as a lesbian myself. It was certainly not unheard of in this era, however, for gay characters to be portrayed in a similar, somewhat ambiguous fashion, although never in a particularly positive light. Regardless of if our two leading women Eve and Addie were specifically written to be romantically involved, I personally find it makes the episode an awful lot more interesting to see it that way. It's not a bad story line - a woman marries a rich older man to provide for herself, her secret lover, and their child, but when things turn south, her lover kills the husband to get him out of the picture. Things do not go as planned, and relative chaos ensues. The plot doesn't quite get to live up to its full potential here, though, as the writing is just a bit rough around the edges and could maybe use a few changes. Still, it didn't hinder my enjoyment of it too much. I do love the way the story is framed, with the same events playing out slightly differently through the testimonies of each the defense and the prosecution, leaving the viewer to decide for themself what really perspired prior to the events of the episode. It's certainly not a trope invented here, but it is one of the things it does well. All in all I wouldn't say 'What Really Happened' is worth particular note among the rest of this series, unless you are similarly interested in the possible queer representation of this era, but it's definitely not worth skipping over.

Here is a fantastic movie with poor ratings, seemingly done in by the fact that it was simply too niche. If you're homophobic, well, I don't know why the hell you'd be watching this in the first place, but it seems to me that the majority of viewers giving negative reviews just weren't able to relate to it. Being that I'm a 17 year old lesbian myself, I suppose I am better predisposed in that department, and I found it to be a witty, genuine, and memorable coming-of-age film. It nailed a lot of insecurities often missed by gay media, which was pleasantly surprising. In any case, don't go into this expecting a inoffensive or subtle film. Its humor is heavy-handed and brash, and it takes a certain kind of viewer to enjoy it - one that doesn't take themself or the movie too seriously.

I don't write reviews, so this one will probably kind of suck, but man I loved this movie!! I went into it with little to no expectations and was shocked by just how good I found it. Enough to be added to my list of favorites for sure. The main character - thank god - is actually likeable, unlike so many protagonists before. The romance, despite being integral to the plot, isn't forced or overwhelming. The characters actually respond to traumatic events accordingly instead of brushing it all off like nothing happened (perhaps it could have been done a little better but at the end of the day it's a rather light movie). And perhaps most importantly - it's chock full of super cool monsters, with an adorable canine companion as the cherry on top. Definitely check this out if you get the chance! Warning though: it might be a bit more emotional than you expect (I teared up a bit at one scene, LOL).

Everyone here rated this way too harshly! The Sleepover definitely isn't anything special, but it's not half bad. I think I'm a bit older than the target audience here and yet I enjoyed it far more than I expected. It's super cheesy, but sometimes you aren't looking for a thriller. If you're looking for a movie to watch with your kids and still get a kick out of it, I'd recommend it. It's not a non-stop action R-rated spy movie, don't watch it if that's what you're looking for,
