American Horror Story: Winter Kills (2021)
By far the worst ending to a story
There was absolutely nothing surprising or interesting in this episode. If anything, it was funny how completely ridiculous the episode was. Gotta say, I never thought I'd cheer for a baby eater.
American Horror Story: Gaslight (2021)
Only tagging along for side characters
As soon as Alma turned into a spoiled brat begging for food nonstop and preaching about how great she is, the family lost its charm. Everyone else is far more interesting than the Gardner family. I think Mickey and Karen would have made for better main characters than the Gardners. Boring and disappointing.
American Horror Story: Blood Buffet (2021)
A first for me
This is the first season that that side characters are far more interesting than the main characters. I could have done with a lot more Belle, Austin, Karen, and Mickey than the Gardner family.
American Horror Story: Thirst (2021)
Excellent Acting. Poor parenting.
This episode has some great acting but goodness gracious, Alma is the embodiment of bad parenting. Spoiled and self-centered, she is more than enough reason to want to turn the show off. Also, if the black pills are so damn important, why would you leave them lying around?
American Horror Story: Pale (2021)
Great Episode. Great Soundtrack!
This episode drew me in even more than the first. I was completely fascinated with all of the characters except for one: Alma. What an annoying kid. The soundtrack was great though!
American Horror Story: Cape Fear (2021)
Great first episode!
As the title says, the first episode was great! I was hooked immediately. The family is charming and interesting. The home looks cozy and drafty in all the right ways. The town? Quiet and beautiful...and horrifying, all at once. Harry Gardner is extremely relatable! Of course, it was great seeing Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, and Evan Peters again!
American Horror Story: The Future Perfect (2021)
No idea what people are talking about
This episode was great. I hate that there wasn't more after it ended. This could have been such a fun season if only the entire season was about the grays and lizard people lol Really enjoyable, though! I didn't care about the four people not making it out and personally, I think it leaves a lot open for later seasons. The one thing I wish is that Kit from season 2 may have made an appearance or had been mentioned somehow. Perhaps a different type of alien took him.
American Horror Story: Blue Moon (2021)
Interesting and at times, a riot.
I enjoyed every part of this episode and got a few chuckles out of it. Definitely different and more interesting than what others are saying. Perhaps go into this expecting nothing and you'll be surprised? Not sure...but it's definitely not propaganda of any sort lol.
American Horror Story: Inside (2021)
So interesting!
I really wish the creators would have focused on this instead of whatever what the first bit of the season or "first feature" of the season. Absolutely loved their take on aliens and such.
American Horror Story: Take Me to Your Leader (2021)
Loved it
I thought this take on the Roswell crash and Area 51 was amazing. It was fun and sure, the kids in the later half were irritating at first but the first half of the episode was amazing and very interesting. I wish the entire season had just been this.
Ghosts: Pilot (2021)
Awful.
This could have been a lot better if the storyline and characters were inspired by the original Ghosts instead of a sloppy cut and paste. The majority of the ghosts are lacking personality and depth, but that could be said for the "livings" as well. It's painfully obvious which actors have more experience than the others. Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar are terrible together, with zero chemistry and emotions that never quite meet the eyes. The American interpretation of the British ghosts are extremely disappointing and mostly just...annoying.
Ghosts (2021)
Absolutely terrible.
I tried approaching this with an open mind after watching the original. The main characters, Samantha and Jay, are hardly believable as a couple and have 0 chemistry. Their acting is over the top and cheesier than most 80s sitcoms. Some of the ghosts/actors of the ghosts are fine. That being said, Trevor and Pete have somehow lost all of their charm from their British counterparts.
It just didn't translate well. Had this come out in the late 80s or even sometime during the 90s, the over-the-top characters, fast dialogue, and poor acting could have been acceptable.
Do yourself a favor and just watch the British one on over on HBO.
The Many Saints of Newark (2021)
So so so good!
Maybe it's because I just watched the show or maybe it's because I went into it not knowing what to expect, but I thought the storyline was easy to follow and was by far the best of any prequel to any show I've ever watched. I do feel like it would have made a better short series just because a lot of time passes quite quickly, but over all, it ties up a lot of loose ends and seemingly explains a lot more to certain characters' backgrounds.
I would definitely recommend watching the show first before the movie.
Lovecraft Country (2020)
Amazing First Episode!!!
I didn't know what to expect, especially after the first few minutes, but I was thoroughly impressed and completely hooked! I'm looking forward to the rest of the season! Best Sci-Fi I've seen in years!
