Beer League (2006)
A great guy movie
Finally a good movie just for guys. Artie Lange shines in probably the only movie that I know of that had softball at the sport at hand. It's typically working guy, blue collar guy kind of movie. With great jokes, Artie is hilarious and you actually want to See Artie Lange catch the ground balls(because he really does). Me and my buddies laughed as soon as the movie started; it's a good eighty minute flick to just leave your brain at the door and want to be entertained. A good show and I wish Artie Lange luck when it goes national. I would recommend it definitely. Laurie Metcalf was great as Artie's mom, and had some hilarious scenes that are very memorable! Great movie, great time, Beer Leauge is a great movie!
BloodRayne (2005)
Wasn't as bad
Compared to his other two "masterpieces" this is actually his only watchable movie. It's not great by any means, but it provides some sort of entertainment. Kristina Loken is really attractive and she plays her part well and Ben Kingsley is a good bad guy.I admit I've never played the video games so I don't know how it relates to the video game, because the previous scripts for House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark barely had anything to do with the games. Those scripts were very weak and the movies just fell down flat. Bloodrayne actually has an interesting character some high end digital effects and some good gore scenes. Nod bad for a satruday rainy afternoon. 2 and a half stars out of four.
The Vanishing (1993)
This is an under-appreciated movie.
I have to say that the remake to The Vanishing, is an exciting, tense well acted thriller. I have seen the original and enjoyed it, but I felt there was something missing. I do like the original ending of The Vanishing, but with this version, the ending they used worked with that version. Jeff Bridges goes from sympathetic(you actually like the guy) to scary, Keifer Sutherland does a great job playing a normal guy strung out on too much coffee, but the real star is Nancy Travis. Her no B.S. attitude really plays well and she does it with such percision that she actually steals the movie. This is the movie that shows how well she can act. Plus the score also makes the thriller very moody and showy.
Give this another chance.
It gets four stars from me.

Mimic 2 (2001)
The movie wasn't bad
This is actually an above average sequel. Yes it's low budget and there are no celberities(except Eddie Albert if he counts) but the film is done tastefully. There are some good scares and it's a good follow up to the original. The original actress who played Remi in the original returns as a teacher who suspects the judus breed has returned. It's not as good as the orginal but it's very decent. Plus the special effects are good, good action, good suprises and it's short which always helps.
