8 Mile (2002)

WOW! 8 Mile/Mathers has style!
14 July 2003
Let me start by saying I'm not a fan of modern rap. L.L. Cool J, and some of the other older rap, I could respect. When I first heard Eminem on the radio, I really didn't feel one way or the other about his music. I did howewer like the unique way he put words together and the peculiar rhythm which somehow seemed to flow more naturally than Shakespeare. However, It wasn't until I watched 8 Mile that, I saw an even deeper side of the artist. He was very passionate in his acting. The movie captured me and I believed that was his life. He showed an intensity and a natural inner fire that most actors in Holllywood wish they had. I rated this movie 10 out of 10. Again, I'm not a rap fan, but if Marshall Mathers/Eminem/Slim Shady is in another movie I'll be there!

All I have to say , is just see this movie! It was spectacular, spectacular!!! I was dissapointed that Ewan an Baz weren't even nominated for an award. However, I was extremely dissapointed that Nicole didn't take home "Best Actress" I don't know what the award committee was thinking.

I loved this movie! Willis and March are simply excellent. This is a movie that you'll want to watch again and again. I think this flick was highly under rated! The sexual energy between Bruce Willis and Jane March is amazing. However, it's the tiny nuances which really made the film fun to re-watch.

Poetry in Motion!!!

"Moulin Rouge" was the best movie of 2001 to date. Nicole Kidman simply sparkled,(even more than the diamonds)! Both Nicole and Ewan McGregor's voices, were just breath taking, and John Leguizamo was incredibly hilarious.

This movie makes you feel like your a part of this elaborate broadway show. It sweeps you away into another time and yet your familiar with the music. Baz Luhrmann deserves huge praise for not only casting a wonderful ensemble, but for making a movie that was truly entertaining!

Do yourself a favor and escape into the "Moulin Rouge"!
