HILARIOUS!!! A LAUGH OUT LOUD, PEE YOUR PANTS KIND OF MOVIE!
14 February 2004
This movie was just plain dumb. I laughed the whole way through it. I questioned how these actors could even take themselves seriously because the lines they were spewing were so stupid. I encourage all to see this movie simply to understand thoroughly the meaning of the word garbage. The best part of this movie is when Ashton Kutcher wakes up to discover that low and behold his arms are missing...it was hilarious. (second to that is when he is sitting in his wheelchair CRYING...he is now wearing orthopedic arms)The only character I liked was Thumper...he was cool because he was fat and yet always managed to get laid. I admired that. So please if you want to laugh out loud at a poor and pathetic attempt at a pshychological thriller than RUN don't walk to your nearest theatre and drop $13 to see The Butterfly Effect...you will not be dissapointed.

Fantastic!
10 August 2003
Pirates is quite possibly the best movie I have seen all year. It has that special quality that reminds us why we love movies so much, it is an escapist. It has absolutely everything you'd want from a great movie; there's adventure, romance, suspense, comic relief and some great special effects. The acting is fantastic, Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow completely steals the show and puts in his best performance in a long time. No joke, this man deserves to be nominated for an oscar. The rest of the cast is very good as well, each person manages to create a character that you really care about. Kiera Knightly will definetly be headed to superstardom after this one, not only is she a great actress she is simply gorgeous. The bottom line with pirates is that it is a fun movie but avoids becoming cheesy because you actually care about the characters and the outcome. It is a movie everyone can enjoy, very young kids might be frightened but there is enough comic relief to keep it from getting too dark. If you are going to see one movie this summer, make it Pirates of the Carribean.

The Ring (2002)

Intense Psychological Horror!
17 November 2002
The Ring is the scariest movie I have seen, perhaps ever. It was so well made it had me and the rest of the audience to constantly on edge waiting for the next scary thing to happen! The Ring tells the story of a reporter named Rachel (Naomi Watts) who while investigating the strange death of her 16 year old niece discovers a tape she and her 3 friends (who are also dead.) watched a week ago. She watches the tape herself, which contains strange images of a woman, dead horses and a lighthouse to name a few as well as a ring shape. After watching the movie the phone rings telling her she has 7 days to live. Rachel starts on a mission to discover the meaning of the movie and who made it and why before her 7 days are up and she dies. The movie contains so many plot twists and turns after this, delivering up scary and scarier things that leave you completely freaked out and chilled to the bone. The final ending (a HUGE plot twist that turns the ending from a semi-happy one to a terrifying one) had me just horrified. You will never look at a tv set the same way again. This movie is definetly worthy of being called a horror, it relys on the sharp wit of the writers and director to create some very chilling scares rather than gory blood and guts. The pacing of this film was perfect, leaving you on edge almost the entire film. The acting while not excellent was impressive, if you are of a faint heart I don't recomend this movie; it will scare you in a psychological way and trust me it leaves the theatre with you! Excellent horror, SO SCARY!!!! 9/10

Spectacular, a riveting movie and a marvelous fantasy!
23 September 2002
This movie is amazing! It's story of a unicorn rumored to be the last out searching for the others said to have been chased away by the Red Bull is beautifully told. The unicorn is a lovely creature and when I was young I remember thinking she was the most beautiful thing ever. Along the way she encounters many interesting and funny characters; theres the warped Mommy Fortuna who collects magical creatures for her sideshow carnival, the bumbling Schemdrick who longs to be a "real" magician, the kindhearted Molly Grue who has always dreamed of seeing a unicorn, the heroic Prince Lir who falls in love with the unicorn in her human form and the mysterious King Haggard who spends most of his time gazing at the sea. This movie tells a story so unique and beautiful it will overwhelm children as well as adults. Everyone should see this movie, my favourite cartoon of all time!

10 out of 10 stars! I can't wait for the live action version!

FANTASTIC! Extremely touching!
30 July 2002
A Rumor of Angels is a very well made movie! The story is unique, in that a young boy and older woman form a relationship and become best friends which is something you dont see in Hollywood very often! The acting is perfect, I could not find fault in anything the actors did, Trevor Morgan as James turns in the best performance of his career and leaves me in tears on more than one occaision. Vanessa Redgrave as usual is phenomenal, she pulls you deep into a character who on the outside seems hard and bitter but is really full of life and love. Ray Liotta, Catherine McCormack and Ron Livingston put in strong performances as a father still caught uo in his own grief, a stepmom trying to connect with James and an uncle who offers comical relief while still giving good advice. The setting is gorgeous, the direction is perfect. I like this independant movie because unlike all the big huge Hollywood blockbuster it has heart and soul and you can really see that.

Has Awesome Spirit!
4 June 2002
This movie was really well done! I thought the story, characters, animation and soundtrack were all amazing! Even though it was a cartoon with next to no dialogue I thought the emotions were portrayed very well since it left me and most of the audience laughing, crying, cheering and at the end standing to clap! Even though it is animated, I didn't really think it would be a good movie for kids under six as it left one young child bawling at one part and she couldn't even sit still throuout the rest due mostly to the lack of dialogue making it harder to understand. Great movie overall but I think a more mature audience would enjoy it more than a younger one! I have to add that I really liked this movie better than Spiderman, the storyline was more intresting and the emotion is 10 times better! See it instead.

Spider-Man (2002)
Lacking something...
4 June 2002
Not a bad movie, just not a great one! The storyline for one was not gripping at all, it was just there and you kept waiting and waiting for something exciting to happen...it never did. The acting was definetly a problem for me, Willem Dafoe and Tobey Maguire were the only two who excelled particularily Tobey who was the perfect choice for Peter Parker. Kirsten Dunst however was a major dissapointment for me, normally I think she is fantastic but she just didn't seem to be able to pull off her part and the scenes where she storms out of her house crying were just pitiful. James Franco was boring; besides being incredibly hot he did nothing, he never changed his expression or voice...EVER! He too is normally good (The James Dean movie is awesome!)but he just wasn't there. On a good note the way Spiderman swings through the buildings and the positions he poses in on the wall or while landing were very true to the original comic book drawings which I thought was nice. Also, the action scenes were well done too and I found them to be the most enjoyable parts. This movie is watchable but the overhype makes it appear like it is going to be a lot better, just expect to be dissapointed if your looking for something more than a summer blockbuster/popcorn movie.

Fantastic Fantasy!
27 May 2002
This is one of THE best movies of all time! Even though it's normally categorized as a parody of fairytales, I think it is the epidimy of one! It has everything a fairytale needs love, fighting, unusual creatures and funny characters! It's awesome and the oneliners are hilarious! The performances are perfect, Cary Elwes as Wesley is forever going to be my childhood love (I first saw this movie when I was 7 and I fell in LOVE with him!) This movie still leaves me in tears and I feel wonderful after watching it! 10 out of 10! Everyone should see this movie...again and again!

Wonderful Family Film
17 March 2002
This second part of the Laura Ingalls Wilder story tells the later part of her life when she and her husband Almanzo a.k.a. Manly and their daughter Rose travel to Missouri to start a new life. They encounter many difficult situations ahead including losing money, being teased at school and trying to start a farm. The acting was good, Meredith Monroe did a great job as Laura but at times I found her a bit too cheesey, and Walt Goggins seemed a little distant at times but he pulled his weight and Skye McCole Bartusiak was exceptional as Rose, shining in all her scenes. The pacing was almost perfect, and while the script was a little lacking it worked fine. The setting was magnificent, all the scenes were breathtaking. I think this is a wonderful movie for a family to sit down and watch together, it's just nice and sweet nothing more nothing less.

I think Lassie is a very good movie! Sure it's mostly for kids but I am 16 and I still enjoy it! When I was younger this movie was my favourite and I was in love with Thomas Guiry who played Matt. I think he was fantastic, his acting was phenomenal and he totally stole the limelight, it's worth watching just to see him!

Pretty Good
21 November 2001
I admit The Glass House isn't the best most thought-provoking movie but it's enjoyable! It's definetly light as fluff, but who really cares as long as ur likeing what u see? I wouldn't reccomend it if u want to laugh, cry or come out feeling touched but if u just want to enjoy a fun movie Go for it! Trevor Morgan(Rhett) is the best thing about this movie, he has talent and uses it even in his minor role! He is definetly someone to watch :)

18 November 2001
I bought I'll Remember April on DVD off Amazon without ever seeing it or talking to anyone who had! It was a big risk but I was very pleasently surprised by this movie! The acting was wonderful, Trevor Morgan really did a wonderful job and was very believable! A really good movie to watch as a family, it has funny moments, sad moments and a very good moral lesson! It can be enjoyed by kids as young as 5 and adults as old as 100!
