Leo (III) (2023)

Weakest Lokesh Kanagaraj film to date

While everyone compares Leo with the previous Vijay movies, I would like to compare it to previous Lokesh Kanagaraj movies. The first half was really good. It doesn't have a Vikram level interval, but still ends in a very high point that I expected 2nd half to be filled to the brim with well choreographed fight sequences like the 1st half. But instead the 2nd half takes a huge nose dive in quality and screenplay they ruin the very well made 1st half. There are still good scenes in the second half but the story doesn't stick like it did in the 1st half. The flashback fight sequences are so bad that it de-values the excellent fight choreography in the 1st half. While in the climax there is another amazing fight scene we don't feel the tension anymore and we as the audience sop caring about it. The biggest problem is the quality we expect from Lokesh Kanagaraj. Loki has made the best villains in the history of Tamil cinema. Arjun Das (Anbu) from Kaithi, Vijay Sethupathy (Santhanam and Bhavani) from Vikram and Master and Suriya (Rolex) from Vikram. Rolex left a bigger impact in the 7 mins screen time that character was given than the Das brothers in the 2 hours 43 minutes running time of the movie. In my opinion Lokesh Kanagaraj has attained his all time low with this film and as a huge Lokesh Kanagaraj fanboy, I really wish it doesn't go down from here.

DD Returns (2023)

The theatre couldn't stop laughing

This movie is hilarious. Unlike Santhanam's other movies this movie is actually funny. So many memorable characters and the way they all connect together is just really well made. The only thing that was not good was the cgi but let's be real, no one cares about cgi in these types of movie. Also unlike other comedy films or comedy/horror films of Kollywood, this movie has a story and the ending actually takes you to the edge of the seat. Apart from this, there is no adult jokes making it a very good film to watch with your family. Also yes DD Returns is Dhilluku Dhuddu 3 and this sequel is times better than either of the first 2 films.

Mahaan (2022)

A brilliantly written emotional game

This movie is Karthik Subbaraj's career best and this movie is amazing. The amount of care and thought put into every scene makes this movie the masterpiece that it is. It makes us think about duality of the society, what is morally corrupt and what is not and it is very well written. Karthik Subbaraj's team strikes again with one of the best camera and editing work in Kollywood history. This movie is a miles better than Jagame Thandhiram and Navarasa's Peace. Chiyaan and Dhruv Vikram, Bobby Simha, Sananth and Simran's characters were very well written and one of the best characters from Indian Cinema ever.

K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018)

One of Indian Cinema's Finest

This movie's first half was not good. It was straight up hilariously bad. But a second half so good that it could single handedly make the whole film feel perfect is why KGF is getting a 9/10 from me. Yash's acting is just marvellous in this movie. The storytelling is top notch. The editing and color grading is on point. The Cinematography is just mind blowing. This is a film that should not be missed by anyone. No Spoilers! Enjoy the film yourself at least once as it is available on Prime Video.

Note: I watched the dubbed "Tamil" version of the movie.

Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 (2021)

Once watchable movie if you don't care about logic

Its okayish good. Would give 6.5 if I could. When you watch a movie that will get a sequel like Baahubali or KGF you leave the cinemas anticipated to see what will come next. Pushpa is nothing like that. Yes, Pushpa The Rise did end with the introduction of new villains to be seen in Part 2 but Part 1 already feels like a complete movie that should've ended 15 mins before the climax. It just feels like they introduce new villains just so there can be a Part 2. Fahad Fasil's character was so good but he was just introduced to be a villain at like 15mins before the movie ended and he was done dirty at the climax and his role loses all the power it gets. All villains Pushpa faced in this movie are like 10x weaker than Pushpa and Fahad Fasil's character also got ruined just for the segue to the next movie. Part 1 was good enough but will Part 2 be good? That is my biggest concern.

Navarasa (2021– )

Very Bad

Waste of 4 hours+. Over hyped. Very much underdelivered. Summer of 92 is the only movie that is not bad that too is not "amazing". Very disappointed.

Tom and Jerry (II) (2021)

BEST MOVIE I'VE SEEN IN A WHILE!

This movie is freakin amazing! I had absolutely 0 expectation and I had a blast watching this movie! It was really really good! The technical side of this movie is amazing. The Animators really did an amazing job to bring these characters to life in real life with the animated look. The animation was so brilliant! Only problem I had with this movie is the framing issue. If you watch the movie in a regular 21:9 theatre screen sometimes the head gets chopped off. Even in Credits I can see that a lot of stuff are chopped off due to poor framing for regular movie screens. Shouldn't be a problem in IMAX screens but it was bugging me the whole film.

Pros:

• Classic Tom and Jerry with memorable events
• Animation job was perfect
• Good Acting by Support Characters
• A TREAT FOR A TOM & JERRY FAN!!

Cons:

• Framing Issue in Regular Cinemas
• The Story could've been better

Final Verdict: 9/10

Selfie with Bajrangi (2017– )

This is so bad

There are 3 main characters. Ankush, Ranga and Bajrangi. Bajrangi is based on Hanumanji. Ankush is a weak guy. Ranga bullies him. Bajrangi helps him. Ever heard of this plot? So Original. Bajrangi can do anything because he is only visible to Ankush. Ankush who is the very good guy makes me go crazy. He is so weak. He cannot do anything without the help of Bajrangi. But still he is the hero of the school. Ranga at least thinks of a way to succeed. But Ankush is the hero in every place because of Bajrangi. This is so stupid and drives me crazy. The biggest problem is that instead of telecasting Doraemon or Shinchan they telecast this really bad show.
