Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
In the spirit of Ghostbusters
I must admit I was not expecting much, but my expectations was blown away.
This one is does play like a true Ghostbusters movie, and does it well.
The story does lack a little bit, paying maybe to much homage to the first one, thus making the story a little bit to close to the first Ghostbusters. You kind of end up knowing what would happend.
However, it was executed in the spirit of Ghostbusters with humor, action and ghosts. A solid 8 and a wish for more Ghostbusters.
Disturbing the Peace (2020)
Disturbing my sanity
It's not often you come across a movie that are so bad that you start questioning your own sanity within the first 10 minutes, but this one, this one did just that, several times before the initial 10 minutes were up.
It has it all, bad acting, bad camerawork, bad script, bad lighting, bad everything.
All I can say is that Guy Pearce must have owed someone a favour bordering on "I saved your life, you do this for me" level, otherwise there's no explanation as to why he was in this movie.
Not even a B movie lover can love this thing. If you are like me a movie collector, and see this one in the bargain bin, DON'T pick it up, it will ruin your movie collection.
Ablaze (2001)
Not too bad for a lesser Hollywood movie.
Not too bad for a lesser Hollywood movie with no big screen names(Ice-T don't count). It's got the usual amount of bloopers that you can expect from a such a movie. It also got the usual amounts of flaws in how things are done, like a fire rescue team running into a burning and smoking building without the proper equipment, kinda like "firemen Rambos".
The storyline could have been better, but I've seen worse in some of the major hit movies the last 10 years. However, the movie does have a "tv movie" feel to it, with some of the acting and how it's shot.
As for the cast, some of them I would have expected more from, while others that are more unknown does a rather good job.
But overall, if you manage to ignore the bloopers and errors, it's an enjoyable film to watch when you're out of the "major name" movies. Just grab the popcorn and enjoy.
