Euphoria (2019)
Loved this show - deep writing, emotional and great cinematography
Loved this show deep writing, emotional, great acting and great cinematography. The story of two teenagers dealing with some deep emotional issues and how they navigate their worlds from their point of view. All the ancillary characters offer deep perspectives from a teen's perspective. I watch the show from the perspectives of the cast without judgement of how I feel about drug addiction, transgender issues, self-esteem issues, peer pressure issues. These are some of the issues that teens today have to deal with. I'm 68 years old and this show gives me insight of some problems of modern teens and it brings me back to the issues I had to deal with 50 years ago. My favorite character is Fezzo, the good hearted drug dealer and confidant of Rue. Fezzo is a good dude that does bad things to survive. I finally confirmed that Jules was transgendered or in the process or becoming transgender when I saw a "package" in her panties during an intimate encounter with Rue in Season 1, episode 2. All in All it's a great series and I look forward to the continued journey through the eyes of Rue and Jules.
Sweet Mountain Christmas (2019)
Cute Holiday Movie

The Chi (2018)
Authentic Chicago
As a Chicago native I find the show very realistic. I really enjoyed the first two seasons but I was annoyed how they just dropped supporting characters like Quentin with very little explanation or Jerrika or even Detective Armando Cruz. Another thing was characters in Season 3 just came out of the blue. Where the hell did Dre come from and the next thing I know she is marrying Nina? Where in the previous season did they mention Jake and Reg had a brother down in Kankakee? There were too many inconsistencies in the continuity of the story. I hope they get a chance to wrap up some unresolved issues. When Brandon was murdered there was no mention of Jerrika who was his former financee. That had me scratching my head. The kids story line is great. The boys remind me of my crew when I was growing up. Overall I give the program seven stars for keeping it real to the Chi, but it's pretty weak on its story lines.
