Still Alice (2014)
Nothing new
I'm not sure what is the point of film like this. It's the usual depressing story, YES it makes you sad. The ambient , setting ,etc are all perfectly chosen. Juliane Moore is spot on for this type of part and everything added makes up for a fine film BUT I have seen this before. I have seen movies about moms that get cancer, make the whole family cry and the movie follows the rest of their life after the diagnosis. What's the point? What's the point of watching essentially the same movie year after year? There is not enough character development, the story overall falls a little short and it feels like you get dumped right in the middle of some sad story. Don't get me wrong , this is worth a watch but that's it. I'm not re- watching this one anytime soon. There's plenty of classics like this out there.
Fury (2014)
Hollywood no, just no.
Like always , Hollywood likes to think that the US won the war by themselves (even when the Soviets saved their asses). I'm tired of seeing unrealistic American hero movies. We have enough of that. I was expecting something like Der Untergang. Unrealistic story meets entertaining action. Shame for the talented actors, all of them including the young and beautiful star Alicia Von Rittberg tried their best to save the movie but the story is too bland. Pitt was excellent, like always. LeBouf might be weird in real life but it's hard to beat him at acting. The cast has a lot of potential and it's sad to see that the script couldn't keep up with it.
The Invasion (2007)
What are people talking about!?
This is such an underrated title! I loved the movie since the beginning. I would compare to 28 days later. It was just luck that I found this one as there is no propaganda of the movie. No one I know had heard of this movie but man, what a movie! I love the actors , I love the acting , everything! There is some darkness in the movie and there where some scenes that did scare me. Don't you like it when movies can induce different emotions in you? The idea that this series of events could actually happen in real life made the movie more appealing to me. We had something similar when the virus H1N1 came. The movie takes you right back to those moments of suspense. If you like those feelings don't let this movie unwatched!
