Al morir la matinée (2020)
Argentinian Aubrey Plaza and Jonah Hill
Ten things I learned about The Last Matinee:
1) Eyeballs are perfect for pickleling.
2) The main actress resembled Aubrey Plaza.
3) Jonah Hill was also there.
4) You better talk to the creepy security guard or he'll get cranky.
5) Dont take a bar harlot to the movies.
6) You can find true love on a bus and in a movie theatre.
7) Angela would have made a better Final Girl.
8) You can save money on a babysitter by sending your kid to the movies by themselves.
9) The Frankenstein movie was definitely suspense.
10) Matinees can also be considered late night showings.
This film was silly in most parts , but decent attempt at the 80s/90s slasher genre.
Honeydew (2020)
Wow that soundtrack is annoying.
If the choppy editing doesnt annoy you, then the loud jarring noises and weird background music will sure do it. All this movie does is distract the viewer from realizing there is no real "meat" to the story.
I Trapped the Devil (2019)
Can someone please turn on a light?
1) Failed attempt at eerie mood and lighting. 90% of the movie is spent in a dim red basement where in some parts were too dark to even make out what was happening. If the devil really were trapped in my house, that sucker would be lit up brighter than a Christmas tree. (Oh wait that was dark too)
2) Failed attempt at the slow burn payoff. 90% of the movie is dreadfully slow, for when the ending does finally come you have to wake up from your nap.
3) Failed attempt at believable characters. 90% of the movie is the characters and their horrible decision making skills. Why wasnt the police called the second it was made aware that a "man" was locked in a basement. Instead we get the brother chugging a bottle of whiskey while he tells his wife to hear his brother out.
The last 10% of the movie is a waste of your time.
Possessor (2020)
Stabby Stab Stab!
*Spoilers*
There was no real plot, except for the fact that the main character seemed to be losing touch with herself in the hosts body. Cut to the next scene and shes stabbing a person violently instead of just shooting them like a normal assassin would do. I was waiting for something to happen, but instead got a weird montage with the host wearing her face as a mask around town.
