Captain Marvel (2019)
Can't Understand The Hate?!?
I'm really unsure where all the IMDB hatred is coming from?
For me personally, from the last five MCU releases, I would put Captain Marvel ahead of Ant Man & the Wasp and Black Panther, but behind Thor Ragnorok and Infinity War.
Maybe it was the red wine but I had a great time with this movie.
Just go and enjoy it for what it is.
Big Top (2009)
Is this some sort of joke?!
Having just watched an episode of Big Top, I was moved to write my first IMDb review in years! What a piece of ****!!
Some of the best comedy ever penned has been for the BBC so it amazes me that they could commission something as banal and witless as Big Top.
The gags are obvious, clumsy, and devoid of any humour and I was constantly reminded me of the spoof Ricky Jervais comedy, 'When the Whistle Blows'.
Got to be seen to be believed.
PS. If you are someone who enjoyed this show (statistically there must be some), I suggest you check out Ballamory and Mr Tumble on Cbeebies.
The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978)
You won't believe what you're seeing!!
I'm a big Star Wars fan and I had often heard other fans talk about the infamous "Holiday Special" and how rubbish it was, but I wanted to see it for myself
I was expecting it to be bad but nothing could have prepared me for what was to come. To say it was bad would be an insult to bad movies. It was the most pathetic, mind numbing, laughable, two bit piece of **** I have ever seen!! It's so bad it's good if that makes any sense. The acting is shocking, the effects are the worst I've ever seen and as for the animation sequences; they look as though they were drawn by stoned hippies!!
You have to see this movie to believe it. I recommend anyone with an interest in Star Wars to watch it.
You won't believe what you're seeing!!
Mike Bassett: England Manager (2001)
Compulsory Viewing for England Fans
At last a football film made for football fans. Mike Bassett: England Manager to put it bluntly, is ace. This film had the potential to be a real stinker but casting Ricky Tomlinson as Mike Bassett gave the film a kick start from the beginning.
To people who have no interest in football, this is probably not the film for you. But to those England fans who have ever cried into your pint after a penalty shoot-out defeat, or danced the conga, naked through a pub, singing "..it's coming..Footballs coming home..", then you'd be mad to miss this!
There is a particularly sweet moment towards the end of the film when England face the Argies. 8/10
Keeping the Faith (2000)
Chick Flick Worth Watching
This is a first and foremost a chick flick but there are some hilarious scenes dotted through out this movie that make it worth watching.
Stiller never fails to make me laugh and Jenna Elfman is absolutely stunning.
Certainly worth a look.
