Anne (2022)
7/10
British television has done it again.
11 November 2022
Anne is not about the Hillsborough disaster itself, it's about families of the victims fighting for justice. This show has given me sympathy towards victims of crowd crushes. It took me over two months to finish these four episodes owing to my busy schedule and this not being a suspensful show. During these two months, the Seoul Halloween crowd crush and Morbi bridge collapse occurred. I was saddened that such events still happen in real life despite being preventable.

The acting was good and Maxine Peake's performance was commendable. The series was repetitive and frustrating, as I'm sure the families of the victims felt about the judicial process.

I'm 21

So I couldn't relate to it at all. Came here for Hagai but hour long conversations between two people is a stretch. Yeah, the acting is great. I would even call it realistic if it were not for the creative liberty taken at the beginning of each episode. But the show is very boring.

My favourite sketches from Cake
8 January 2022
I love the concept and the dark humour. Military and Real Estate are my favourites. I wish they made more episodes. I find it interesting that I like this but I hate all the other stuff Phil Burgers does.

It's racist, fattist, ableist, ...

In other words, the epitome of a Comedy Central show. Yo-bitchuaries, auditions, porn barbershop quartet, are all good. The 'read this out to introduce the next sketch' is pretty unique.

Better than Nanette
4 November 2021
Nanette was good but it wasn't really stand up comedy. This was. I choked on an almond peel when she started with the antivax material. There were a few bad jokes but I'm fine with that.

Only negative thing was that it was hard to look at the paintings when she was talking about them.

5 average episodes and then the last one knocks it out of the park
16 July 2021
Also, I didn't realize that it wasn't set in present day until the last episode. Weird that it went unnoticed.

Not Funny
4 July 2021
Well-written but it's just not funny. A comedy-drama that isn't comedic or dramatic.

The character of Marty is unlikeable.

Good sitcom and I don't usually like sitcoms

Love the entire "we only film in the car" premise. I didn't particularly like the radio jockey in season 1 but they fixed that in season 2.

Very funny sketch show
4 March 2021
I've only been able to watch the individual sketches on YouTube. They're quite funny and dark. Trent o'Donnell and Phil Lloyd make great shows.

Relationships don't make sense
15 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Couples break up without a fight. I can't believe people would consider divorce or break up without adequate reason.

A Drag
15 January 2021
Season 1 was fantastic but the next two seasons just kept dragging on. One hour is too long for an episode; there were times where I was like "this is a great scene to end with" and I look at the duration and there's twenty minutes left. The direction of romantic relationships in this show doesn't make sense to me either.

Like Man Seeking Woman but Worse

I only watched this show because I craved surreal comedy. A few episodes at the beginning were good but it got really bad towards the end.

Worth Watching
20 September 2020
I've been watching a bunch of British miniseries lately and there's nothing particularly different about this. Wouldn't call it slow. I liked the ending. But there were some plot points I wasn't clear about. I still don't know what the title of the show means.

Not Worth It
28 March 2020
Sharp Objects is very slow. I hate Adora's character. There have been scenes where the characters were inaudible. The information revealed by the show is tough to grasp -- "show, don't tell" doesn't work. I misunderstood a few episode endings and that's not my fault. Even the opening theme is terrible.

So Absurd It's Good
12 March 2020
Bliss makes the best out of its premise. I just finished rewatching it. It's definitely funny, like satire funny. It's not believable at all. Andrew is so jumpy that both of his partners should be well irritated with him by now. But, the ending was horrible.
