Boring
25 December 2022
Plot is super slow and draggy. Nothing happens for the first hour and by the time stuff does happen, I lost interest. The comedy is lame and the main characters who are meant to be likeable aren't likeable. No wonder no one likes Bollywood movies.

The only thing I liked was the ending, that was a twist I didn't see coming and shows how victims of abuse are constantly stuck in a toxic cycle. And I loved Alia of course, she's both stunning in appearance and her ability to act in a variety of different roles. Everything else was pretty dang boring. How on earth did this movie get 6.6/10? It's worth like 4 at least lmao.

So boring I have no words
12 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was SOOO boring. It had nothing going for it, like how was this a horror movie? The script writer needs a new job and the people calling this movie 'amazing' need to watch more movies, clearly. And I'm sorry, all the characters except the main dude were annoying AF. It was just morally and ethically fricked up. Like the friend had the audacity to blame the guy who was being cheated on rather than her friend who was doing the cheating like that's messed up. This movie only exists because the couple are stupid enough to stay together like no one who is sane would want to be in a relationship like that. It was so boring that I actually have nothing else to say about it.

Boring
22 September 2022
The OG can never be beaten. Honestly who the heck wrote the script for this? Not only was this boring and predictable as heck (I saw the 'twist' coming from a MIIILE away, maybe I'm just too good at this :p), but fr they were bringing in unnecessary feminist social issues that no one fricking gives a crap about. All Bollywood movies are trashy in that sense, they have bad production, stories and direction. No wonder no one likes them anymore.

Sidharth is lucky he didn't act in this one....although I did miss him. He was so good in the first one (and so was Ritesh like god damn man) and eye candy was much needed in this movie-at least since the plot was so bad I could have fun ogling the guys but sadly neither of them were eye candy/attractive enough for that. Which only made the viewing experience for this even worse like rip.

Meh
6 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Firstly, stop making prequels and sequels and all that dumb crud. You're ruining the OG stuff. This one is...alright, not great but not horrible either. I have major gripes with this that I can't get over though.

The part that made me laugh SO hard was when the brother at one point goes 'This is America. People like us matter.' Like wow. The only country that no one (but America) likes and the only country where psychopaths are protected better than the victims.

Yes, *very* accurate!

Honestly tho I loved the twist of them being deranged freaks like I wasn't expecting that part at all! I even got goosebumps on my face when the mom revealed everything. Sadly tho, I didn't really like the movie as much as I thought I would. It felt very underwhelming overall like nothing really happened. I was even rooting for LEENA against the fricked up mom and brother and I never thought I'd say that. But for a psychopath, Leena was completely clueless. It started off strong but then against wannabe freaks, she was all tame and so goddamn dumb. But seriously so glad the brother died the way he did. The poor real Esther, that part got me.

All in all, it's worth a watch but it's not as great as the first one. I expected more from this.

So bad
6 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Why do people always like the awful stuff? Just make a scary movie that actually has a story. This movie was sooo bad and predictable. The end was lame. I hated Mina and Josh, they literally accused someone and killed someone for no rhyme or reason (except for the fact that they didn't like him like what are they, five?). I hated the wife (i forgot her name lol) who was a hypocrite and the husband was a jerk. They're all jerks. I'm glad they died. I guess I expected this movie to be better than it was. It didn't do anything for me.

On a completely seperate note, cameras in airbnbs and all that stuff is my absolute worst fear. I'm the most paranoid person ever so this is gonna plague me for life. Yay.

Horrible Ending
27 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The wholeeee movie you're sitting there making guesses about who the culprit is and whether or not Joshua is the bad guy (and giving us hints that he is) BUT THEN they go and end the movie on a 'we'll never know' note. WTH. Know your audiences people and Indian movies with vague, ambiguous endings like this will not do well. If we're promised a movie about an officer 'stopping at nothing' (literally Netflix's words) to find a serial killer then I'm pretty sure we need to see the person/know who it is because that officer stopped at NOTHING to find him! Otherwise what's the point of watching it?!

This was so bad mainly because of that ending. That was what ruined the whole thing tbh.

Dissatisfying
18 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Why are Malayalis so dumb? Seriously, this movie had so much potential (especially something like a good revenge thriller) but it just turned out to be a dissatisfying, dramatic joke that falls extremely flat as it nears the end. The start was promising and while it had its tense moments, the story just wasn't good enough. If I was in Suraj's shoes, I'd be fighting for justice for my kid not seeing the chick and the dude that ultimately ruined my kids life, happy. It's ridiculous that this is what people label a 'good' movie nowadays.

A true disappointment
26 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Yet another bad Indian horror movie to add to the list. Just because this is the first Indian eco thriller to have been made doesn't mean this was a good idea in any way. Whoever made this script needs to take additional courses for how to write. Again, I won't waste time telling people how awful this movie was (which it was like man, apparently the Earth has a brain and is communicating with them/'getting revenge' via phones and ordering meteors and extinctions cos why not like soooo creative, someone give this scriptwriter an award already geez) but I'm sorry because I lied and I just have to say it: this was utterly awful.

Literally makes no sense whatsoever with the whole restoring ecological balance thing (only in the one place? How does that work if she's supposedly representing/is the 'Earth'? Shouldn't she be going around killing every construction worker around? And if it were only construction workers like she said then how come everyone in that town disappeared? Again makes no sense. I'll have to ask the Earth-which so obviously gave me life and I just plopped here out of nowhere-for the answers according to this movie so guess I just gotta wait for my phone to text me or go to an abandoned house so it can take revenge on me for LIVING). There is no substance to the movie that it makes it or the message memorable nor are the characters relatable or likeable because all the movie relies on is the end 'twist' which isn't a twist at all. From that point on, this movie is a disappointment. If it wasn't an 'eco thriller' and had a different storyline (done well of course) perhaps it would have been better but I have no hope for Indian horror movies at this point.

Deserves way better than a 10
7 May 2021
This is one of the best Tamil movies I have seen in a long time. I don't know what the others are complaining about, literally this was amazingly done. If you want perfection, then either use your brain and imagine it or go direct it yourself but I doubt it's gonna be anything like this lol.

Seriously, I wasn't expecting this sort of acting, this sort of story or character portrayal at all and I was literally mind blown. It shook me to the core and the violence was awesome! It was needed actually, and made me sympathise with the characters a lot because this sort of crap happens irl. Obviously because it's a movie he takes down a dozen people BUT it's truly about the strength that is found in people like that--the strength that should be there to fight against toxic, corruptive people instead of falling at their feet and pleading so it's a really good message. Hey, you gotta slap people back ten times as hard when they try and play around with you. Anyway, I can't explain in words how much this movie moved me. It made me cry, it made me angry, it made me feel a LOT of things. Basically a roller coaster of emotions that I fully welcomed. Honestly, Dhanush stole the show for me (although every single actor was superb) and his character was perfect, I loved it! If there was a rating higher then 10, I'd give it that.

have no words
5 May 2021
I literally have no words to describe this show. It's so old but so amazing, it's hard to explain to someone who hasn't grown up, so to speak, watching it! I can't believe they rebooted it and of course, they had to go and make it god awful, ruining the original for fans like me. I don't get why people now feel the need to reboot series that don't a reboot! Like hello, it's done fine on it's own and no one bloody asked for it so leave it aloneee! But nope, clearly not. So I'm not going anywhere near that crap lmao and sticking to the memories I have of this one. Piper was literally the best for sure xx.

Looooved it!
5 May 2021
Next to Charmed, this was another show I used to watch when I was younger with my mum. It's such a beautiful show I can't even describe it. I love love all the characters and it's so nostalgic. I remember how it used to give me goosebumps even though it wasn't scary. It's a great show to watch with family especially since it's clean but it's satisfying, if that makes sense. This is one of the very few (actually one of the only) English TV shows I've ever seen because it's not pointlessly dragged out, does not have crammed/worthless sexual scenes for all those pervs out there and isn't boring. Each episode has its own story with the overarching main plot too and even to this day I remember it! It will always have a place in my heart for sure.

Irritating and boring
5 May 2021
There was actually potential with this movie, like what could have been a creative and endearing movie was just turned into something so awful. It was like even the director and whoever wrote the stupid script didn't know what to do and so just added random scenes to fill up the time. There was no proper plot and it was just...honestly it was boring.

Bollywood...needs help
29 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was the dumbest movie I've ever seen. Why do I even watch Bollywood? It's crap. Awful humour with awful acting and a cringe storyline. The ending was the worst, honestly. There was literally a chance for her to get her life back (the witch would have actually disappeared) and she was whinging about how the witch ruined her life the entire movie BUT THEN all of a sudden at the very last minute she changed her mind and then decided to get MARRIED to the WITCH and live her life like that?!?! Um. Wtf? Bollywood. Please stop being so extra. Ya'll movies are garbage and it's just too overboard. Get help.

Feminism...sigh
21 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie has feminist written all over it and in a horrible way. Obviously the people that have rated this movie highly are most definitely feminists. It doesn't stop trying to send messages to the viewers about how bad the male gender is and how superior females are. The male character is bad but the female character is just as bad if not worse. Saying 'my girl' and 'my dude' is not ownership for Pete's sake, get that through your heads. People take that way too literally. And by people I mean over the top feminists.

Just because eloping happens irl all the time doesn't make it right and she's literally only thinking about herself and her happiness when he deserves the same. His life could get ruined because of the embarrassment. She could have dealt with it in a smarter way, like he said, marry him and then divorce or tell their families about it because it's her choice who she marries. But running away? People seriously think that measles them smart or better people. I'm not saying he's right because he's not but she is too and I won't stand for that kind of crap. I'm a woman and I just find the whole thing dumb. They talk about women as a whole (generalisation) and I'm sorry but I don't want to be lumped into a category of feminists. Feminism is supposed to be about equality not to show how good the female gender is (which it isn't) compared to males. What, just because she's a female, she's entitled to say and do anything she wants and it's always right? Why doesn't men have the same right? They can't hit women but women can slap men? Oh yeah, real great. Total equality right there.

This movie literally sends out the message that people who don't adhere to societal rules are 'bad'. I'm sorry, but no one needs to change their views just because society calls for it. And especially not for any man or woman. It's their choice. People can be liberal, conservative-as much as they want. And I'm supposed to believe a criminal murderer psycho dude goes through all this trouble....only to teach them a lesson and doesn't even kill them? What is he, a teacher? A professor? Wow this movie was a horrible waste of time. Never again. I'm starting to think Malayalam movies are desperately trying too hard to be 'modern'.

Hmm
5 April 2021
I have mixed feelings. It's kinda dumb because they're kids meeting in the middle of the woods at midnight (like hello how is this not concerning? And how come the parents like never find out?) but it was also entertaining. I don't know if this show is aimed for kids or something because the story and the whole thing wasn't scary at all-definitely more cringe. But for some reason, I really got into it by the third and final episode lol. I don't know why, I guess the characters grew on me, although I loved Graham from the very start, he was funny, cute and he can actually act really well compared to the others. Anyway, I didn't mind it but it's not something that will stick in my head.

....just why?
23 March 2021
THIS SHOW IS SO BAD! What's with the good reviews and the awards? Are people dumb or blind? It definitely didn't deserve it. There's bad acting and awful storylines for each ep (with cringe dialogues and narration that's like supposed to be some kind of...made up moral message? lmao), I was practically skipping everything to the end. Not worth your time so SKIP IT.

Drishyam (2013)

Amazing, don't believe anyone else
19 February 2021
I can't begin to describe how amazing this movie is. Don't watch it in the Hindi version or any other versions because the original is the best and the acting of the remakes is awful and it just ruins the whole story. The story, the characters, everything just melded together beautifully and people who don't know what good movies are, are the ones complaining about it and giving it a bad rating.

Don't listen to anyone else when they say the runtime is too long. Either they're from Western/European countries or stupid-the usual runtime of Malayalam movies are long so if you don't like it, don't bloody watch it, period. The movies aren't made to please you people, but for those of us who have grown with that; it's normal for us so suck it up, for gods sake.

And those that say that this is a copy of a movie or a novel...just no, I watched the movies and read the novel people claim it copies just to prove a point and I can proudly say that Drishyam is UNIQUE and has a completely different plot. People are dumb if they're trying to nit pick and pull at things when there's no similarity whatsoever. I stand by my view and say that Drishyam was the best movie ever made.

Mohanlal was the perfect man for George kutty like no one compare-he was made for this role!

dumb
22 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What a waste of my precious time. It's a bad movie, like seriously I wanted to scratch my eyes out. All the characters were dumb-literally the dumbest decisions ever made and I thought making dumb decisions was a horror movie character trait.

The entire time, I was rooting for the guy and wanted the girl to die cos she was the most annoying. Did not care about her in the least and the worst part? SHE DIDNT EVEN DIE WHEN SHE WAS CHOKED LIKE WHAT.

God this movie frustrated me. Hated the chick. Hated the characters. Hated the story line. Basically, hated everything about it.

Rip a piece of my soul.

Made me cry like a child!
28 June 2020
I've seen this movie before when I was a kid but watching it again, like darn, I cry everytime. It's so sad and Mammootty makes it even worse for me (in a good way) because his acting is amazing! His character is literally the sweetest and the fact that the people around him takes advantage of what they have made me so mad. I know that this happens irl too which makes me even madder lol. Besides Mammootty and his wife, I hated everyone else (I mean the characters cos they were made to be so unlikeable) especially Siddique's wife who I just wanted to beat up. Which was the whole point but I just pitied Mammootty so much-the plot, the acting were all on point.

Depressing but so good
28 June 2020
This movie was so tragic but so good at the same time. Since it's pretty old, I doubt most people would like it seeing it now but I know I did. It was really depressing, especially the end (which I wasn't expecting) but it wasn't the sort of depressing that made me hate the movie. It had a good message and the characters were all likeable even Mohanlal who was the bad guy for the most part! All the actors (obvi) did a great job with their roles and I really felt Seema's pain. Really enjoyed this one!

Wonderful movie with a surprise!
24 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
WHAT A TWIIISSSST. Was not expecting that at all but that's what was so realistic about it. It was simple but was also able to capture the typical day-to-day life of a Mallu person cos I could relate to it. Great acting by all the actors (some of my faves too!) and a really good storyline that actually sends out a warning message to the people of this generation. You never know when/how life can change and you should never trust people blindly. I was honestly not expecting to love this movie as much as I did!

How to Be Indie (2009–2011)

So good
11 June 2020
I remember watching this when I was younger and absolutely loved it. The other shows that ran at the time weren't as good so I'm surprised there aren't any more How to be Indie lovers. I've been rewatching it recently and I forgot how great it was. The script is funny and over the top (in a good way) but I also just love the friendship between Marlon, Abi and Indie. Friendship goals right there. I guess I like this show more than the average person because I can relate to it, being an Indian myself. I love the fact it portrays the Indian culture cos a lot of shows (especially nowadays) lack that diversity and focus; I've always wanted to see a show that features characters/main characters of different backgrounds and this is probably the only show (the only good show) that has an Indian female lead! It's too bad it didn't get picked up for a third season, I would have loved to see more. The good shows never get to see the light unfortunately.

Flawed
1 June 2020
Jyothika's acting is great and it's a sad story but the movie is very flawed lol. You can't talk over each other or yell in a courtroom. Nor can you rely on emotional speech as tears don't do anything in court (which is what the movie relies on). On a side note, there was a scene in the movie that had a message of 'Truth should prevail not evidence' which is dumb as hell. To prove truth, you need evidence. Just because someone cries wolf, doesn't mean it's actually true unless there's proof of that. Doesn't matter if it's a sensitive topic or not, that's how it works. People abuse laws that are made for them and you can't blindly believe things. It just irks me so much that people think fighting for people just because they claim they've been hurt is called justice. Anyway, I expected a well-shot, intriguing movie with a thrilling story line but fell flat. Big pass on this one unless you want to die of boredom and frustration.

Dumb as crap
27 May 2020
Why awful movies like this get national awards and good reviews from others continues to astound me in more ways than one. It's a terribly shot movie with a bunch of mistakes. I know it's about a social justice issue and the issue itself is sad and heartbreaking (which is why I hated everyone in the movie; the men and the women in the brothel especially, but even the lead cos she was weak AF) but the way the movie was taken, the characters (except for that boy that helped) and the storyline as well were horrible. Only Siddique's acting was great cos his character made me want to chop him up lmao but he captured a jerkface brilliantly and I expected nothing less! All in all though, god-awful movie and not something anyone should torture themselves watching. Watch a more worthwhile movie folks.
