Just Terrible
19 September 2021
I really loved The Mule and was excited to see this film. My god was it bad. The kid, Rafo, is a horrible actor. I don't know that it can get much worse. I felt second hand embarrassment watching this in an empty theater. Who selected him? Fire the casting director. The women were good actors, but MUCH too young. They each should've been 20 years older. When Clint was dancing with the woman you could see the age gap - he's not moving too well. The story was not even remotely believable. Clint is too frail to do any of the things depicted. It was really awkward and forced. Also, I felt nothing towards any of the characters. I just didn't care at all. I suppose the rooster was cool.

Three stars for the cinematography.

Too Long No Substance
21 March 2020
The substance of this film could have been covered in about 45 minutes. Half of the film is long, drawn out sequences of apples and slow readings from Linda's diary. Very sad story that deserved more. Lots to be desired.

Disappointing

Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted to love this movie as I was in Philly on vacation and got to see some of the action shots filmed. I even got a little token from a scene. However, the plot lacked depth. It was a good idea that fell flat. With the exception of Stephan James, I thought the acting was just okay. There were some pretty corny lines throughout ("we're here for your cocaine.") and some parts that needed to be better developed (the money laundering guy with all the info).

Overall, I wanted to enjoy it, but it was pretty okay.

Cute Movie
6 December 2019
I liked the film a lot. Go to enjoy it, not dissect it and you will enjoy it too. Lots of Grinch's here in the review who are mad about diversity. It had love, laughter, surprises, tears AND great music. It's a fun Christmas film. I don't know why everyone was expecting a historical masterpiece. And for everyone saying Love Actually...let's remember that a lot of Love Actually revolves around a bad marriage.
