Atlas (2024)
Good background movie
I think JLo shines when she plays a vulnerable character who has to learn to be assertive and overcome something. Enough and Selena come to mind. But shes not a good fit to play a hardass. Shes pretty good in the last scene with Smith.
Fantastic special effects! Great potential story, i actually hope someone else produces and casts a part 2.
Overall the movie is okay. But sadly predictable. JLo isnt a good fit for this type of role. I really liked the Harlan and Smith characters, they seemed to have more depth and complexity than the Atlas role.
Not terrible but glad Im on the couch watching it-ish while doing other things.
What/If (2019)
I watched the whole thing. My bad.
I give myself a 1 star rating for watching it all. Why does the director think every other line has to be screamed in fake passion?
The cast was stellar, not their fault.
Others have said it, 3 unrelated plots. Makes no sense.
Literally everyone in the main characters life has lied to her on an insane scale. Who her mother is. How her adoptive parents died. Husbands secret past and bizarre current choices. Did i leave anyone out???
Friends of the main couple have some crazy story that allows bizarre circumstances that no one else notices. Employers. Ethics committees. Family. Dont you just ove it when surgeons and 1st responders disappear and no one notices?
Her adoptive brother lies to everyone about his mistakes. Like being the reason the adoptive parents die. But it seemed to turn his boyfriend on for some reason so he proposed, of course he did.
But hey...as long as it all gets wrapped up in a nice bow at the end, who cares.
Keep it on in the background while doing something else.
Accused: Scott's Story (2023)
Excellent
Much better series than the description led me to believe! One of the standout aspects of "Accused: Scotts Story" is its stellar cast. Each actor delivers a captivating performance of their characters. Every role is played with nuance and conviction.
What truly sets this episode apart is its masterful handling of unexpected plot twists. Just when you think you have it all figured out, the narrative takes a sharp turn, leaving you reeling. Yet, these twists never feel forced or contrived; instead, they seamlessly integrate into the overarching story.
It is also supported by impeccable writing and direction. The pacing is brisk and deliberate, ensuring that the tension never wanes. Each scene builds upon the suspense and leading to a fantastic ending.
